Congrats to everyone with passport requests! Cheesy

Ugh....few more weeks wait for me. Seattle just emailed saying my DOB on my passport doesn't match my birth certificate. It's my fault for forgetting to correct this, but seriously somebody just transposed a 4 for a 7 in my birth day (27 instead of 24). At least they seem to expedite these requests... hopefully that's true because I need to travel in ~3 weeks  Huh

If it's a US Passport with the issue, are you close to a passport office?   There's a list at http://travel.state.gov/passport/npic/agencies/agencies_913.html

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience.  I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information.  Good luck with your application!  Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

I was hoping someone could offer insight, since I am confused by the information I've received about my application. My husband got an email saying our application was received in Mississauga on Jan. 4. Ecas shows a decision was made on his sponsorship eligibility and that a letter was mailed to him March 22. A month later we still have received no letter. However, I did get an email that stated my application was received on Jan. 2. The signature block said Buffalo, but the email doesn't actually say that Buffalo received it, which is what I expected. Can I assume my husband was approved as a sponsor and the file was forwarded to Buffalo?

I'm in BC at the moment, and that seriously complicates things. They won't send passports back internationally and so I'm going to have to make an appt in a few weeks at the Consulate in town. Also going to have to wait for my family to send up my official US birth certificate Sad

Congratulations, Roadtrip, your husband has been approved as a sponsor!  Smiley
They would not have passed your PR application to Buffalo if the sponsorship was not approved, would they?
Would you like me to add you to the Buffalo spreadsheet?  Link is in my signature...

It never updated on Ecas as a decision being made about my wife sponsoring me, never got an email or a letter. We called a few times to see if they had made a decision, and they kept saying a few more weeks, then call back if you haven't heard anything. We even called back a few times after I had received an email from buffalo stating they got my application, and they still were saying no decision was made yet, finally months after we called again and they said a decision was made.I'm not sure what the problem was.

Does the email you got say your client ID number and file number?

Interesting!  They just started processing you a month ago?  But anyway, I think it's good sign!

NHL application was started processing March 29, 2012 which is a month ago as well, I hope it will work for me as well. Roll Eyes

So it does look like they suddenly remember the forgotten May bunches and decided to clear them up asap in order to make some spaces for their wings.  Good!

Hi Everyone,

I've sent in my PP pages last Wednesday, April 18th to the Seattle,WA office, as they requested it.

Does anyone know what kind of turn around time they will give me for my COPR paperwork?  Shocked  I've sent them a FedEx mailer to use in return as well.

I'm asking because I might have a job offer this week, and I was thinking if I flew there on a Thursday, gave them copies again, and then hopefully by that next Thursday they can FedEx it back to me - that would mean a week turn around time, instead of many weeks.

Any input would be appreciated - this blog is great!

Seattle recently takes 3-4 weeks from receiving passport to send out COPR.

Has anyone imported a car where the title is with a bank in the USA and your spouse's name and another family member(in my case, his aunt)'s name is on the title? We're still making payments on it, and there's no way we'll be able to pay it off before he's PR.

I'm trying to get all the stuff together and get all information together for when he does land and be prepared so we can import his car with ease.

Thanks! Smiley
