It means that E-cas is almost totally without predictive value for almost anything.  After experiencing it myself and reading dozens of stories, I've concluded it's mostly there to give applicants something over which they can obsess rather than send status inquiries to the embassy.

Do you know if Hong Kong Police has sent off the results to Buffalo yet?

Not sure which email address you sent to, I did this and successfully got response from them -> eo-cncc-ib  @  police.gov.hk

For my case, I did my fingerprints as suggested by you in Toronto and sent it off to Hong Kong Police without VO request (not yet received at that point of time).  Hong Kong police called me and asked for 1. the original request from VO (they said they won't process without that), 2. new cheque for the correct fee (increased from HK$169 to HK$185).  All were settled early this week and am waiting.

Good luck!

yea, i SENT it to that e-mail on Thursday, but no reply at all....I don't know where my document is....
After I have sent the App to HK they sent me back a receipt back which is $165 from HK a week and a half later.

There is a statement stated that if no criminal conviction data against the applicant in Hong Kong is located, we shall issue a letter and send it directly by registered mail to the relevant Consulate/ Immigration Authority/ Government Authority within four calendar weeks.

I have e-mail Detroit and Buffalo asking for the finger print, they said they have not received any police check for me..
so i am thinking i need to redo it...

Has anyone else had the pleasure of staying with their parents/ inlaws during this process? How did you keep your sanity until you moved? I have to say, immigration is nothing compared to this stress. There's no doubt I love my husband, I wouldn't put up with it for anyone else!

Is it rude that I'm laughing out loud right now?

I'm not living my in mother in law but my husband is until he moves here....let me tell you, the comments out of her mouth and her actions are so abnormal.

You know that book, sh*t my dad says, yah well I'm about ready to write sh*t my mother in law says, I'll be sure to interview you when I start it!

Just think once you guys are in Canada, and I hope you mean you are living with your in laws in the states, you really won't have to see them all that often.

Dont get me wrong, I love my mother in law, she raised an amazing son but I get the insanity point!

Good luck!

Thanks guys, and for the PM Smiley

Unfortunately, my inlaws have a large working farm so hubby lives with them to help (well when he can, he works the oil patch too so he works a whole lot) and so the kids and I are staying with them as well... They have an enormous house but it's just not enough!

The "light at the end of the tunnel" is we're looking to buy a house this summer. I'm working on a business here, making and selling soap as soon as I'm legal, and my mother in law seems to disapprove of me doing anything for my own purposes... I should be raising kids and cooking and cleaning only! And what's more insane is she calls herself a feminist!

Ok I'm done. Sorry, I can't rant anywhere else!

I stay with my in laws to be. None of her older family knows English. I've pretty much been forced to learn a new language.

Oh man, I can easily see how frustrating that could be.

We're building a new condo, and don't take possession until September 2013 ... until then we're living with my parents and their exchange student. I think some days my husband hopes his PR takes the full 11 months, just so he doesn't have to share in the insanity.

Hi GOGOGO,

Hope all is well. I was just wondering abt how much did it take for NYC to contact you know about the police clearance cert after the file was transferred. Mine got transferred on Feb 22, 2012 and is in process ever since..They received my file in mississauga on Aug 16, 2012. Looks like yours moved a lil earlier than mine..But we ended up in the same boat!

Let me know...Tired of checking e-cas every hr.
