Thanks for sharing your experience...I am scheduling myself to go this Tuesday (arriving in Buffalo on Monday for some Galleria shopping)...my only question is related to the time that you actually were able to leave the building with the PR. I have a meeting in Rochester at 1pm for work and want to make sure that I will make it in time. Around 10:30 as well but then again, we had missing docs. Cherlyn who was on the PR line first was there for about an hour so I think, correct me if I'm wrong, she was outta there before 9 am.

I stepped in the building at 6:40 a.m. Till 7 a.m. I ate a bagel at Tim Horton. Speak with I.O. around 7:40 a.m. and the passport with visa was in my hand at 8:45 a.m. What I can say be there first and you will be done for sure before 9 a.m.

Hi everyone, Two questions: 1) Did anyone receive PPR's this week?? 2) Can you Land in Canada after visiting the Buffalo office by using Greyhound? If the process takes a long time (I have nothing to declare as I presently reside in Canada on a Visitor Record), can you pickup the next bus? Pros/Cons? .... I could drive, but 7+ hours from Montreal each way is a lot less appealing than a quick bus to Toronto followed by an an express Via Rail train to Centre-Ville Montreal! Here's to good news next week! I cannot wait to get this process finalized!

I don't think the manner in which you goto Buffalo will matter nor if you turn around and land immediately after. But, I'm not sure how the landing process is I can't remember reading of anyone going by train - and any types of restrictions (if there are even) on that. Hope someone comes along and helps better.

@ can_usa_97: Agreed, getting to Buffalo is a non-issue. The return, "Landing in Canada" via bus seems ... difficult. I imagine others may have done it.

My husband landed by bus (Megabus to Toronto) via the Fort Erie crossing after obtaining the visa from the Buffalo consulate in person. He had no issues and was able to continue his journey on the same bus. He had no goods to declare and no goods to follow - so this certainly made his landing shorter.

Thanks for sharing your experiences...I'm leaving soon (from Ottawa) to drive toward the hotel in Buffalo. I'll be at the building by 6:30am tomorrow, in time for a quick Timmies coffee and to jump in line to get this part done and over with! It's only one hour to Rochester from Buffalo, so I shouldn't have any problems at all.

We received a letter from Buffalo today waiving my husband's interview (YAY!), but although they have confirmation that his medical was completed, they do not yet have the results. (His medical was completed July 7th.) They say "no further action is required from you to complete this process", but I would like to know why they don't yet have the results (plus, we were told by the immigration doctor that my husband was in perfect health and that they saw no reason for concern.) Is this the fault of the doctor's office, or Mississauga? Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone recommend calling Mississauga to a) ask them if they have the medical results and to b) request that they send them to Buffalo? Thanks for any assistance/advice! ~ Em ETA: Of course, right after I posted this, I found this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t15561.0.html I am faxing Ottawa stat! But I am still open to hearing suggestions and stories regarding this issue! Thanks, all!

Okay, I am worried about getting left behind! It has been 3 weeks since my application was shown as In Process and I still haven't received AOR. We never did receive the Sponsorship Approved letter. What if they sent me AOR and it has gotten lost? What if they asked for something and gave me 90 days to send it back but I just don't know about it? Do I just sit back and wait? I don't want to miss the 90 day window if they have given me one.
I can only think of one thing that might hold up AOR and that is the fact that my son was adopted by me from Guatemala but I sent everything I had on his adoption. I was so thorough on my application and I sent everything.
I can fly to Buffalo in 2 hours. Surely the mail can get here in a few days!
What to do? Sorry, panicky Monday!

My file has been in process since 8/19 so almost 2 months now. so you are not alone, just be patient and wait contacting Buffalo will not speed up the process and could cause delays.

I'm on a month and a half without movement. Mine went in process 8 days before Emily RugBurn - but there really seems to be no pattern to the way they process anything.

I'm so sorry, can_usa_97 -- it really does seem painfully random. It could even be something as ridiculous as a really lazy agent working on your case. I immigrated to the US to be with my husband 3 years ago, and it was a total nightmare (a thousand times worse than this process, if you can believe it) -- several thousand dollars over 2 years, 3-4 rounds of fingerprints, 2 interviews at the consulate in Montreal, etc..., and during, I, literally, went an entire year without ANY movement on my extremely straight-forward application. And, since we decided we'd be happier in Canada, it all turned out to be a complete waste of time/money/stress! (Although, it has been nice to finally share an address with my husband of 6 years.) I'm rootin' for ya, can_usa_97!! ~ Em
