no they didnt... weird huh... Also... when i applied for DD's certificate they wanted proof of my US citizenship... B'lo hasnt asked for that at all... wonder if that is part of the hold up

It is, you'd think there'd be some universal input program or something they could use, lol! Speed things up, make it more about data entry and less case by case - lol. I am wondering also if that is part of it here too - just the nature of hubby moving here, having kids, ect.

here is an updated spreadsheet https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhRdh026XqeudHhfTWotUHctdEcxN1lHOVVwaTBZVmc&hl=en&authkey=CP3Lwe4B&pli=1#gid=0

(not that it really tells us anything Buffalo is so unpredictable i wouldn't be surprised if an august applicant has a PPR tomm  Tongue)

Good morning Smiley  Thank you for the spreadsheet.  Great information.  I just wanted to add that my medicals were done and submitted with my application on August 16th.  I noticed that my PPR was received 08/26 and while I really really really wish that was true  Sad this PPR date must be for someone else!  Thank you so much for all the work and effort you put into setting this up for all of us.  All the best, Nell

I have to say that I'm in shock. I was expecting a much longer wait and can only assume we got lucky with the IO assigned to our file.

There was a significant problem with our file. My husband worked in Kuwait for a year and a half in the mid 80's. Despite months of trying, we were unable to obtain a police certificate from Kuwait. Everyone we approached told us there was nothing to provide since all police records pre-1989 were destroyed in the war. We wrote a letter explaining the situation and it looks like they accepted this. On top of that, my husband spent 15 years working in Egypt as an expat (we had the PCC for that) and had also done short (less than six month) contract jobs in Sudan, Iraq, Mongolia, Rwanda and other places that I'm forgetting right now (we reported all of these jobs on the application). Based on this, I was sure we were in for background check hell. (Having said that, many of these roles were US government contracts that required security clearance so maybe this helped?)

Waiting was horrible and stressful and we didn't even have to wait that long. I hope processing goes quickly for everyone else who is waiting.

My husband is currently in Canada and is going to travel down to Buffalo to obtain his visa in person next Tuesday (and then head back and land). I will report back on how that goes. I know several others here have done it.

Hello everyone!  I tried to see if there was another thread for my question but I can't seem to find one.  I spoke to someone else in Bermuda who is in the application process and they said they received a late request to provide an FBI Certificate.  I don't know there circumstances so I really can't comment but when I went through the application and the instructions it says that you provide police certificate for the countries you have lived in for ....and so on.  I am Bermudian but I also have US Citizenship as my mother is from US and I was born on the US Base in Bermuda but I have never lived in the US.  The only country I have lived in is Bermuda.  Should I need an FBI Certificate?  I also have Irish and British citizenship from my father but I have never lived there either!

Also, for the Medicals, they were sent at the same time as my application.  However, I received a letter 4 weeks ago requesting a "furtherance" which the doctor did and faxed the result to them last Monday (which was fine).  Do they send the medical results to Buffalo or do they send a form or something advising Buffalo that medicals were received and all is well?

Our Sponsorship Decision Made letter was mailed to me on September 14th - 17 days ago, surely I should have received it by now.  Does it have the Client ID on it?

Thanks,
Nell

Hi Nelly,

I can't answer your question about the FBI certificate.

For the client IDs, here's how the information reached us:
1) I (sponsor) received a letter confirming that I had been approved to sponsor (my husband's ID was NOT included in this letter).
2) My husband (applicant) received a separate letter containing his ID.

Does this answer your second question???

I'm in the same situation, and on the same timeline.  Married 6 years, and I (the sponsor) just became a US citizen (actually after our PR application had been filed).  I didn't think it would affect anything, but maybe it's slowing things down.  The only difference in our processing is that I was transferred to LA a month and a half ago.

I'd think it has to in some way Sad and perhaps the file just hasn't come up again for review. I wish when a document came in it was flagged or something.
My husband never did become a citizen, thought about it but his mother was born here and live here til she was 25, if we'd met a few months prior he could have applied thru her status.  Case probably isn't as clear cut as it feels to ourselves.

My husband just received his passport request via email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Cheesy

A big congrats to you and your hubby!!! Grin  Just when I feel like all hope is lost, someone posts good news, reminding me the end may be in sight.  I was curious as to whether his e-cas was changed to "decision made", or if the PPR was just sent...I'm wondering if I am wasting my time (and my employer's...shhhh dont' tell) by checking it obsessively!!

Thanks,
Anik

Thanks Scylla!  My sponsor and I live together in Bermuda and neither one of us has received a letter.  Maybe Hurricane Igor slowed the mail down (although I didn't think it could go any slower).  I figured 17 days was long enough for a letter from Miss. to Bermuda.  I am assuming because Ecas shows (under my Sponsor credentials) that my application is "In Process" that the sponsorship was approved.  I just want my ID!  I am usually the most patient person around but it amazes me how having others in control of my life drives me nuts!  LOL  I should have remembered because I went through *#** and back when I adopted my little baby from Guatemala in 2005 as a single mom at the time.  I found a forum just like this and it was a huge help because I didn't feel alone but it still drove me crazy. The waiting!!!

Thanks everyone!
