Cherlyn, I was trying to think of ways of making you feel better. I wish that I could make our PPR's magically appear. But all I've got is this. Have you ordered a CAIPS File check yet. I just ordered mine a few days ago. They said it can take up to a month for them to get the notes to you, but hell, wouldn't you like to know what the heck is holding things up? ParadiseCrystals on another thread explains how to order them. i thought caips note is kind of pointless and doesnt really tell much...? what do u suggest
I haven't got mine yet, but I'll let you know when I get them  I don't know, it just helps me cope to be actively doing something and ordering my caips is the only thing I could think of doing at this point. Plus it was free, so what the heck. |

SaugaBoss... I was thinking the same thing about how Buffalo seems so unpredictable. I have no idea what to expect for our application. It could be anywhere from before Christmas to next summer for all I know. lol I imagine that it is hard on people who have been waiting for a long time and then see others get through the process so quickly. On the one hand you are happy for them, and on the other you wish you were them! lol

Well I got my visa in my passport at Buffalo and landed on tuesday, the 28th.
My experience with buffalo is that the "no electronics" thing mentioned is actually "no cell phones" as there was no metal detectors and several people had a PSP/laptop/ipod/etc. We showed up about 830 and had the visa in hand by 1015! The lady was super nice and gave me a congratulations. I never did get a "welcome to Canada" though, not even when I landed. :/ I didn't have anything to bring into Canada at the time, but I did give them my goods to follow list including my car.
landing was fairly anticlimactic, it had been a very long day by then and we still didn't get back home until after 3 am!!
The next day I stopped by Service Canada and got my Social Insurance Number (SIN) and I'm hoping to sign up for the Québec health insurance tomorrow!
It feels so strange that I'm all done, I still feel like I'm not finished...

Fortunately we had sent away for a second one (that is a whole different story!). Of course we have not heard one word about the second one. Did they ask for your daughters proof of citizenship, I read about someone else having to send that in as well.

no they didnt... weird huh... Also... when i applied for DD's certificate they wanted proof of my US citizenship... B'lo hasnt asked for that at all... wonder if that is part of the hold up |
