Maybe Buffalo has transferred it to a satellite office - but they should still be able to tell you where. I would reply back saying that CIC-M informed you that your file was sent to Buffalo as of xx date and you are concerned as to where your file is. If they still say they don't have it I would contact CIC-M back and ask for a supervisor. Keep us posted!!

thanks, will do!!

One Year Ago Today, CIC received my PR application.  It's an incredible day to mark, as I've been landed since January, have my own business, and no longer have to cross that blasted border every day to work in the US.

So much happened last year!  I remember thinking this would take much less time than it eventually did.

Take heart, those still awaiting PPR.  You will be celebrating soon!

Thanks again to all in this forum.  I was a much calmer and sharper applicant because of you.

Good luck!
You mentioned driving across the border to work, did you have any problem crossing the border everyday to get to work? Were you questioned by the officers every time you crossed the border after work? The reason I'm asking is I'm moving to Toronto and plan on waiting for my approval there but I also don't want to just sit around. I wanna work in Buffalo but i don't know how to go about this without having any problems at the border every time i'm going "home" to Toronto after work. Any insight would be greatly appreciated :•)  I'm an american citizen being sponsored by my partner.

You apply online.  The US and Canadian governments both have to approve you.  It's $50 to apply and once you've been approved you make an appointment to go to a Nexus enrollment facility, they do the final check of your documents and then they mail the card to you from Williston, VT and you get it in about 5-10 days.

https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/main/goes/HomePagePreAction.do - this works for either US or Canadian citizens (it's a joint administered program, but the US controls the website.)

It makes crossing the border VASTLY easier, by land, air or sea.  The land border crossings give you a special lane and while you can be questioned, odds are you won't be.

Wow your lawyer is doubled what i paid!!!! That is ridiculously high!!! David Cohen is my lawyer and this forum was created by his office. That is just crazy!

Well they said it included filling and landing fees, and they're $1040, so it's only about $1000 more. My wife and I also hired Mr Cohen and we've been very happy with him and his staff.

lol I was just too afraid not to include it all!!

He wrote a 2 page letter, and I wrote a 3 to go with those 10 envelopes for the categories of ...

Financial Dependency
(I even summarized each bank statement for every month for our personal and joint bank accounts that reflected shared purchases... )
Official documents/records
Photos
Gifts
Letters of Support
from family and friends
Trips taken together
Proof of Communication (skype, phone, text, ventrilo)
Letters & Chat Logs (email record list, msn chats, etc)
Cards (holidays, ecards - from both family and each other)
Social Networking (facebook)

And not in folders stacked on top were the 2 letters from us and a copied set of a few pieces of mail addressed to us both at same address.

COPR
Passport
Address where they should send your PR card (easiest if you have it on a slip of paper)
B4 and B4A (start with the B4 form which contains your bio data and overflow into the B4A and just check the 'goods to follow' box on each page).  Take two copies if you can so that they don't have to do it for you.
Camera to capture the moment for posterity Smiley

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience.  I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information.  Good luck with your application!  Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

So your paying the fees + 1000$??? Or the fees +2000$?
