Yes. I would still maintaining good records in the event you must document this.
Does this mean I can live outside Canada with my Canadian husband and that counts towards the two years?

Hi NYQUE, just in case you need, there are shuttle services by Niagara Airbus from Toronto Airport to Buffalo downtown.

Right now me and my wife are trying to determine the best way to go to Buffalo since from Montreal there are no direct flights (you have to go through Toronto I believe) so I guess we will drive, I'm still deciding if we should enter through the border between Montreal and Champlain (route 87) or go all the way to Toronto and enter there, I guess we will be leaving a day before get a nice hotel go to the interview and come back the same day.

I am getting ridiculously excited for PPR now LOL obsessing over all the spreadsheets I can find about time between medical results received and PPR and it seems to be very little time between the 2. Maybe I'll have a good birthday (march 8)! I can't wait for the process to be done, but I'm also excited to go back to Oregon, get my stuff and see family!

Make sure you pay your RPRF fee. I would give it a few more weeks. Youre almost there

We paid everything at the beginning (over 1600 with 4 kids), I sent a copy of the receipt with my part of the application; too many horror stories here about delays. Hopefully the very next thing is PPR and hopefully its soon!

Hello All - So you'd think the confirmation of permanent residence would be all happy happy day!!  And it is...it's been 10 months.  However, it gives my husband until 5/1/2012 (read less than 60 days) to move!  We have a house that hasn't been sold, jobs....(because unlike immigration may think...we couldn't just sit and wait until they got around to us!)  I remember reading a few months ago people saying they went to the border, "landed" and then went back to the states to finish up their business (like selling the house and moving).  I recall maybe they filled out the personal effects to follow form?  Can anyone clarify or point me in a direction for clarification?  We're hoping we can run up to the Watertown/Thousand Island border crossing, do paperwork, and then head back until July or August.

Thank you!

Exactly. Just because you must land by May 1 does not mean you need to be ready to set up shop permanently in Canada with all your possessions. Spend some time making out a goods to follow list. You have no due date by which to bring those items to Canada, you just need to inform CBSA you're bringing them at the time of landing.

HI,

I am looking for suggestions for my wife to complete her taxes. She is a a canadian citizen and is living with me in the usa. Is there a way for her to do her canadian taxes over the phone or computer without visiting Canada.

Thanks
