We will never figure it out. I almost want to give up hypothesizing  Tongue Actually, y'all, what they do is every batch of files they receive, they shuffle them like a deck of cards and then assign them numbers. Then they go to a random number generator online (like the folks who have to pick out giveaway winners based on comments on their blogs) and start work on the file pertaining to the given randomly generated number. Since Buffalo is staffed by a bunch of math buffs, they assign every number that is not a prime number to a satellite office based on whether it is even or odd and whether the particular city would be "even" or "odd" if it were a number (L.A.....definetely "odd"  Wink). Okay, that was my bit of fun for today.

LOL Ddobro. Not to be picky with your math but...they would be transferring a whole lot more apps if the rule was to transfer the non-primes! Tongue

Okay okay, so I've since learned there are 1000 prime numbers less than 7919 so let's reverse that to say they randomly transfer applications assigned a prime number  Grin

Me as the applicant received the notice of file transfer.
Well, giving a second look at their email, I think they were actually just responding to my 'Case Specific Enquiry' that I uploaded my medical report for them, because my original 'enquiry' content is in the email they sent me.  So that makes me wonder whether they told me about my file transfer only because they couldn't locate my file anymore in Buffalo but they have the obligation to respond to my 'enquiry'.
And my ECAS is still 'Application Received' as of today.

Hi GOGOGO, Our AOR dates are same. I was wondering who receives the notice of file transfer to another location or any other update on the file (process/ PPR request/ Decision made notices). Sponsor or Applicant? I am constantly checking my e-mail (I am the sponsor) and so is my husband (he is the applicant), but we haven't received any update after AOR.

Also if anybody knows, PPR request is by e-mail or mail usually? Whose e-mail id? Sponsor or applicant?

Please let me know...

That actually makes alot of sense GOGOGO...and gives me a bit of hope that I have already been clinging to ...that they just have not up-dated e-CAS....

I sent a "Case specific Enquiry" to Buffalo on 13 January 2012 to see whether they received my husband's application, becasue we didn't get any AOR letter. on 16 January 2012 I got their reply according to my previous email request, they said our file has been transferred to New York office in order to expedite the application. Buffalo didn't indicate whether they transferred our file on 16 January 2012 or before that date, they just reply my email on 16 January 2012.

I was just thinking the same thing!  Also it seems like some of them are being transferred over faster than before...some spending only a month or two in buffalo before being transferred....this is great to see and gives me lots of hope for faster processing! Smiley

It gives me hope too because it would mean that applicants would get processed faster at satellites as well as at Buffalo (since some of the workload would be lifted from Buffalo).

Hey ddobro2, I was wondering what orange vs yellow colour means on the spreadsheet and found the following...

"I default them as orange and then when and if someone gets AOR, I change it to yellow. By the way, that's how sparkle, who did the spreadsheet before me, had it, and I asked on here once if people want to keep those three categories and people seemed to be fine with it that way."

So should I be yellow instead of orange?  Or is it now totally based on a random prime number generation?  Grin

If you didn't mention it I wouldn't have even noticed the difference between yellow and orange. The only difference that I saw was 2 colours: orange/yellow and green. Ohh, how much I want to be 'green' only God knows it!

Yep. If you're not it's only because I didn't update the spreadsheet. I don't do random- that's solely Buffalo  Cheesy
