My wife got our Acknowledgement Letter and Passport Request by email today !  NOV 16th  !!

Be advised that your application is processing normally and is in queue for assessment. I think you are still around 2 weeks away from any update on e-cas.
seeing the time lines above, its been happening in 28-30 days. so you should be able to see something on e-cas after 29th Nov.

yah because u just send your application recently nov.1 and you can log-in your ecas after 28days or more, based on the october time table most of us took 28days... actually we have same problem hehe.. i tried to log-in but still have no result nov 23 is my 28th day i hope by then i get the result

Have you signed up for matthewc's ecas tracker? If not, do so, then you don't have to check ecas at all, once you are able to log on, it will let you know and may help with the frustration.

We got the hard-copy of the sponsorship approval letter yesterday. Hooray! And they included a page (IMM 5406) where I missed two signatures and highlighted where I should sign and asked me to send it on to Buffalo. I was a little disappointed that I missed something, but I had mistakenly thought since those sections didn't apply to me, I didn't need to sign (I have no siblings or children.) Oh well, I will sign and mail it on, and then try to get my application for the CSQ today or tomorrow.

It looks like the Beijing Visa Office request the Passport as soon as they receive your application, before even processing it. They clearly say in the letter that it doesn't mean anything good or bad... and that it will take about 6 months processing even though it says 4 months on CIC website.

Also, my wife (principal applicant) can't even log in on e-Cas yet and it looks like Beijing has its own tracking website. The Permanent Residence status on my Sponsor e-Cas still say " Not Available "

So I won't worried about updates on e-Cas but only if I don't hear news before their processing times estimates.

you have any idea about CSQ timelines? as per their website, their turnaround time is 20 working days.

From what I have seen on this forum previously, it is a number that starts with B and then is followed by numbers. I, however, have a 12-digit number on the top right, second row from the top (under my sponsor's client ID number) that says "ID de la trousse." (My French speaking husband isn't sure what that is either. "Trousse" apparently means "kit.") This number does not start with a letter and it doesn't work to log in to CIC. Anybody know what that number is, or if the file number is on this letter somewhere? The reason I am asking is that I need to mail a form to Buffalo today and had hoped to include our file number with the form, to help it find its way to our file more easily. Is there anyone who has received this letter that might be able to help me out? Thanks in advance!

Your number should be the number on the payment receipt you either filled out and took to a bank, or paid online, and filled out after printing it out from the website.  My number starts with an R, but isn't yet active.  I believe it's form IMM 5401.
