hello guys , im a bit confused , i applied for my PPr anf OWP last january2012, ive got my permit three months later, with  the remarks ... your application for permanent residence has recieve initial approval... is that possible( im thankful though that ive got it sooner than the 22-23 months processing times for initial assessment)... is it safe to assume that in 2-3 months time, my dependents will recieve their LC2?  and if the immigration tries to contact us., or the canada embassy manila, what number do they usually use? i dont have a caller ID, and sometimes i miss a call     any info could help, thanks in advance

Hello goodevening guys... share ko lang timeline ko Dec 2011 nagpass ako ng PR/open permit application ko,,and by April dumating OPen permit with remarks pending LIC APR.. and lastweek i recieved a letter asking my family information bcoz its missing in my application form and they cannot contact my family in Phils,,,. i pass it the nxtday... hopefully everything went well and looking forward to hear from my family if they rcved LC2 kit or if  may magkontak sa kanila... Bakit kaya wala pa?april 2010 ka diba?yung ibang june 2010 natawagan na ng CEM,nag follow up ka na ba sa CIC o CEM?kami nga lampas 3 mos na simula ng tawagan wala pa din

yup april 2010 pa ako..tumawag ako sa CIC sabi once na naiforward na nila sa CEM ang info ng dependents ko wala na cla access..mag follow up nlng sa CEM.

nandito na po kami ngayon sa toronto, napakagandan ng panahon, maaliwalas kahit summer, parang nasa tagaytay lang po, dito po pala, matagal lumubog ang araw, 7.30 na ng gabi, maliwanag pa hehehe. hopefully, makapag meet po tayo dito. see you soon!

Hehehe by the way ako po ung wife husband ko ang sponsor... Yup nagpa follow up na ang husband ko sa MP last july 4 at wait daw nila magreply ang manila embassy regarding our visa at kung wala pa until thursday they will send again an email to follow up our visa...

thanks V12. do i have to receive a letter confirming that my initial assessment have been approved? o official statement na ng immigration yung remarks/ observation sa OWP ko ( your application for permanent resident status has been initially approved) . im hoping na sana may development na sa ecas ko, about the application . goodluck sa ating lahat :-)

I think its a good news for all of us in the LC2 category.

CIC changes the LCP from "Others" category to "Economy Class" category and the process times
is changed to 32 months to complete the whole process no matter what country or embassy is
processing your application.

The change eliminated the LC2 category. The caregiver will now join the other trades/skill workers in the same procedure. The "sponsor" will have to be permanent resident first, then later on apply under the family class for the spouse and dependents. The caregiver has 32 months to become PR, then the dependents/spouse has 3 months for step 1 and 8 months for step 2. This makes a total of 43 months as against the previous LC1/Lc2 with recent total of 40 months.

Before this change, the generic form was introduced and most of the documents previously belonging to LC2 were included in the requirements.

Thanks for the explanation. so what about us who are already in process as a LC2? Does it effect on our app?
