Possible answers:

1. After cya mgkaroon initial sponsor approval in 17-18 months per latest update cem website,then cic canada will advise lc1 that within 3 months her dependents will rcve app kit from cem manila, then upon aor of it by cem manila the proc time is 17 months. These given dates are all tentative and approximate only, it is subject to changes.

2. Based on the current procedures being done now by cic canada, mauuna mabigay ang owp sa lc1 bago ang initial sponsor approval which is 17-18 months nga ang step 1 (or stage 1). Before kc ay initial sponsor approval at sunod na agad owp.

Like in our case may owp na lc1 ko pero wala p confirmation ng initial sponsor approval kc nga 17-18 months ang step 1, nung nrcved ng cic canada last march 2011 ang apr namin, ang nklagay na approx proc time ay 11-12 months lng. In short lahat ng given dates nila ay subject for changes as time goes by. Ang mainip ay talo, he..he..joke only

masyado po matagal yang initial approval na 17 months......para sa buong step 1 na po yan, hanggang marelease ang PPR (yan ang normal sched kung walang additional requirements o kulang sa docs)

Ang initial approval is only mga 6 months....yan ang issuance ng Open working permit sa LC1. Nasa OWP  nakasulat na nagkaroon na ng initial approval. Kung minsan, medyo nahuhuli yung mismong OWP document, pero meron pang isang sulat sa LC1 na nagsasabi na nagkaroon na ng  sponsorship approval, at ang dependents (LC2) ay manonotify at mapapadalan ng kit in 3 months. Lumalabas ito sa e-cas ng LC1. Ang LC2 saka pa lang magkakaroon ng e-cas pag may AOR na,  pag nareceive na ng CEM ang complete application form. Nasa AOR yung immigration file number ng LC2 na magagamit sa e-cas, at isusulat mo rin yang number na yan sa lahat ng isusubmit mo (pati sa harap ng envelope). Dyan na sila hihingi ng additional family information, NBI, foreign clearances if applicable, etc. etc. Pag ok na yung background check saka sila magbibigay ng medical referral. Pag ok na yung medical, saka nila hihingin ang passport (PPR) at NBI issued within the last 6 months. Pero depende sa VO, yung iba pinapasubmit na kaagad yung passport. Itong lahat na to ang dapat sana nagyayari in 17 to 18 months (Step 1) from the date of AOR, pero meron pa rin mga nagtatagal.

Yung step 2 (final decision / finalization) ay halos waiting time na lang, unless may hihingin uli sila. Dito na naeexpire yung medical na dapat sana hindi maeexpire before issuance of visa. Sa 17 months na step 2 e talagang maeexpire dahil 12 months lang ang validity ng medical. last year, nasa 15 months lang ang total step 1 and 2.

walang balita kuya.. im guessing matatagalan pa to.. la ngang letter for remed,,

matanong ko lng sa lahat ng nagremed na nareceive na ung mga visa, ilang months nyo nareceive ung passport nyo together with the visa? counting from the time you had your remedical.. ask ko lng..

Oo nga bro, gusto yta ng Canada na dto lang ako sa forum hahahaha  . Musta na bro? Mukhang enjoy ka ha, dalang mo mapasyal dto eh. Nsa CEM na passport nmin ng anak ko pero wla pa sked ng langding interview misis ko dyan sa Canada. 4 months na passport nmin sa CEM and counting.....

hindi maiissue yung OWP kung wala pang initial approval ang sponsor. Sabay talaga sana yan kaya lang hindi kaagad nagagawa o nasesend yung papel. Paano naman nila mababawi yung OWP if later may findings  na hindi pala qualified yung sponsor?

Magsisimula lang yung 17 months step 1 pagnaibalik mo na yung kit at nagissue sila ng AOR. Dun ka pa lang magkakaroon ng sariling immigration file number (LC2).

nasa sulat na sinasabi mo nakalagay yung 3 months pero karaniwan masmaaga pa nga. After 3 months plus reasonable delay sa mail (2 to 3 weeks) at wala pa, ipafollow-up mo na. Yung processing ang bawal ifollow-up. Application kit pa lang naman ang hinihintay mo.

Based on your timeline you will possibly receive your app kit on or before may 2012, remember that after cic canada initially approve lc1, within 3 months the kit will be despatch to lc2, from aug 2010 to dec 2011 is 16 months but cic canada is stretching to the max possible the proc times primarily due to the huge backlog of applicants, meaning in your case they will likely treat your step 1 from aug 2010 to feb 2012 which covers their current step 1 proc time of 17-18 months, in effect you can expect your kit anytime from mar to may 2012.

cic canada is currently issuing owp even to those who just recentlly filed their owp and apr , this is to eliminate problems of lc1 on their present legal status in canada. the way procedures are now, owp is granted early but it does not necessarily mean lc1 is initially approved as sponsor, note that cic canada will generally follow the stretched processing time of 17-18 months for step 1, then within 3 months for app kit for lc2, then 17 months step 2 for lc2 after aor.

all in all, cic canada can revise the processing times anytime as they so decide, for our part, we can only sing "I can wait forever, if you'll say you'll be there too" by air supply and follow it up by "No Air" by jordan sparks. he..he.. joke2
