Passport was requested on Thursday July 21st. Finally! My husband checked ecas late at night. I was already in bed and when he told me I thought it was all a dream. Only the next morning I realised it really happened. We have Fedexed the passport to Austria, since I am currently visiting Canada. Hope to get it back soon and get the landing done. Yay!!!! Congrats to all who have landed already and lots of luck to all who still wait. |

I was approved to sponsor my husband in December 2010...then January 19, 2011 my husbands application was received in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia...we got a letter saying that it would take an average of 6months to process and it also said that if we did not hear from them by March 19, 2011 then we should contact them directly which we did and did not get a response from them!!! July 19, 2011 hit exactly 6 months and the only update to our application was that they began processing our file on July 4th and that my husbands medical exam was received...
we also sent them an email saying that the time line of 6months has already passed and we have not heard anything from them...based on experiences does anyone know roughly how much longer it could take??
I would appreciate any input..

From what I've seen of other people's timelines (and I don't really know anything about KL) but once they start processing its usually a few days to a few weeks (unless there's some significant past history/security issues they need to check into). So hopefully it will be soon!  |
