Hi, am adding my case

applied on april 26th 2011
sponsorship approved - may 26th'
file received by sydney, NSA -june 7th
AOR received -july 4th

my spouse is also indian living in australia on PR.AOR didn't say anything about transferring our file to new delhi..

AOR noted two numbers one starts with F and one starts with B but we are not able to login on line using either of these numbers.
However, i am able to login usign the number that we received from mississauga office notifying the sponsorship approval.

ecas is still showing "application received". I see that most of the straightforward cases are done with in a month of receving the file. so not sure what is going on with our file..

I had missed a period of time in my personal history and they needed me to verify where I was and address.

hi Tracey, our ecas status still says applciation received even though sydney office has received the application on June 7th. can you please share your experience with ecas? was it first "applicationr eceived' then "in process' then medical received' and so on? and also when it changes?

it will atleast give me some idea on what to expect

Congrats Tracys,  exactly...hehe  Now thats the Sydney I was reading about earlier in this thread. Fast turnaround.

Hi Canadaau

My ecas showed 'in process' and medical recieved  but nothing else for quite a while.  Even when I got my passport request letter it still showed the same thing.  It wasn't until I sent my passport in and got an email from Sydney letting me know that my passport was on its way back with the visa in it that my ecas status changed to 'decision made'.  I think they work fairly fast on the applications in Sydney, I was impressed with the efficiency of it all.

My AOR was mid Feb 2011
My e-cas updated to "In process" march 7th and my Initial assessment letter was dated March 10th.

"We received your application for permanent residence on January 28, 2011.
 
We started processing your application on March 4, 2011.
 
Medical results have been received"

Thanks Gally. Since nothing had happened with our application yet, I had emailed sydney visa office. They emailed me back saying that our application is currently awaiting initial review by a visa officer...

It's been more than 40 days and it is still waiting for initial assessment...i wish we had applied for New Delhi visa office..they seem to be way faster.. (:-

after the initial assessment, if they have all the docs,how long it might take for them to request passport? any idea?

Please advice me on the following:

At the time when my husband applied for my PR he was in Toronto but while my application is in process, he plans to move to Montreal.

What would be the implications of this move on my sponsorship?

Hello there,

I thought I would join this thread.  Sydney received our application on 29 June 2011.  I never ever received a AOR.  I just saw on ecas that our application had been received, so now just waiting for the next step.

You will get it within few days..I think they take minimum one month to send AOR. Our file reached them on June 7th and we received the AOR on July 6th dated July 4th... Hope it helps...

just received email from Sydney requesting a Schedule A form (which is basically a Schedule 1 form minus a few questions...not sure why I need to send it)

they also said medical results have been received and that the initial assessment of our application was completed.  ecas has been updated to in process and medical results received!!!! 

we are getting there...slowly but surely.

our ecas status changed to in process. and it is saying that they started processing our applcation from july 28th
