There are 3 Identification Type at CIC's website while checking the application status which I feel applies for PR application.
1.> ClientID Number
2.>Receipt Number(IMM5401)
3.>Immigration File Number

I am not sure what are these and when will you get it. Can someone explain it.

Thank You.

So, after reading so many posts of people whose sponsorship was approved so quickly, I began checking e-CAS obessively. I am very happy to say that this morning it told me that a decision has been made yesterday and that they sent me a letter.

I am very excited and hopeful. It seems like most people whose sponsorship was approved within a day have been successful with their applications.

Best of luck, everyone!

The waiting time is approx 35 days before stage 1 is approved.

many who have sent there application in during the 1st half of Oct hav received there 1st stage approval in a bout 20 days or so.

You just sent your application is this week, so dn't expect anything for a 3 or 4 weeks.  Mine was recieved at CPC last friday, and nothing yet.

I know its not easy, just gotta be patient Smiley

I do have to say that all things considered, CIC moves amazingly fast on this class of applications.

I know when my parents decided to immigrate under the Skilled Worker Class in the mid 1990's, it took them over 2 years to get everything done. So these 3-4 months that most people have to wait are absolutely nothing...

does anyone know someone who has applied via UK, that isn't a British citizen, my wife hold a Tanzanian passport and is a work permit issued to her after she finished university for 2 yrs that expires end of Oct 2010.  Im wondering is there a time difference in approvals from London for those holding UK passports and those on work permits.

Hi TJ,

I am not speaking from direct experience, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. But I do not think that it'll take any additional time. After all, your wife had to jump through a number of hoops to get the student visa already, so the UK already has done a lot of security checks on her.  Hence, I wouldn't imagine it to be significantly longer than for a British citizen.
