Congrats to all those getting good news. And good luck to all those that are still waiting for their happy ending.
I can't wait for my day to come. I think I am going to be the last one left in this thread though when it does happen...

Hi Sim and Earal

New Delhi and Manila both ask for passports at the beginning of the process... If you check the website you'll see the currently 80% of applications in Manila are being processed in 9 months and in New Delhi in 6 months.  That means you are both could still have several months to wait.

Dear All,

Need to clear confusion on PCC.

Today i checked CHC ND checklist . It say that if your application is received at CIO on or after June 26,2010, you are strongly encourage to submit your PCC  with your application  to the CIO .  If you are not able to attach with application , still you can send application to CIO . But whenever it will be required by Visa Office you need to submit it.

If i am not wrong then CHC ND Checklist said that no need to submit PCC with Application ? Right ?

So what to do ? As i am planning for new application should i send Original PCC to CIO ? What about the Validity of PCC ? Confused ?

Please Help.

Regards,

Mayank

Hi Mayank

I don't know if there are special requirements for ND but generally speaking it is recommended to submit your PCC with the application for two reasons:

1. If you haven't submitted it then once ND receives your application an additional document request will be sent and then they wait for you to submit etc. If they already have everything and there are no other concerns with your application, they may just issue a visa. To avoid delays, it is best to submit your PCC with the application.

2.  PCCs are valid for only 3 months.  If you obtain your PCC and submit it right away with your application, this is straight forward.  If you wish to submit it later, you need to time everything correctly so that the PCC is still valid when you submit it. This can be difficult as you don't know exactly how long it will take to get the PCC or when ND will get around to requesting it. If you time it incorrectly, you risk your PCC expiring or not having it ready in time to submit within the deadline they will give you (usually 90 days).

So - no, you do not have to submit your PCC with the application BUT it does make things easier. Again - I don't know why the checklist specificies that after June 26 it is strongly encouraged but I would guess it is because they are processing quickly and waiting for a PCC would cause considerable delay for you.

Well they told us to contact them in 2 weeks if we had not heard from them, and we did. His file is in background checks now, everything else is approved. They have no idea how long it will take. I really miss my husband, have not seen him in almost 8 months..how do people do this?

I can relate to this. I havenīt really been with my husband for 2 years!!! He came to see me twice this year, because my process is taking so long...this is by far the worst times in my life, and i have been through some very bad times... for immigration, we are just numbers and names...that is life. They are doing their job, but we are the ones suffering wiith this very looooooooooong delay in giving us the green light to be with our loved ones. I miss my husband so so much..xmas is just around the corner..and i really donīt know how to spend it this year again, away from him. Patience is the key word. Patience.
