Also what kind of ID needs to be shown at the bank (so in your case TD) to open an account? Can't find info online.

True as i said as a new immigrant the only headache is the address proof and it will take 3-4 weeks depending on when u land.
But eventually it is easy as bank/phone just need the PP to give u all.

Drivers Licence ( PP )
Health Card ( photo ID PP + COPR + Address proof in ON )

Good any govt issued document needs the PP + COPR

Phone is just PP ( even visitors get phones )
Bank is PP+COPR+SIN ( in some banks )
CC is SIN ( Get him a new CC so he can start having his own credit history, don add him to your card )
DL is just PP + COPR and a phyical address in ON

I think for a DL, one only needs a passport with a Canadian visa in it.. I gt my American license exchanged for a G2 here without any issues using an Indian passport and a tourist visa for Canada..

That is for tourist & an exchange licence.
now you are an immigrant and the way you prove it is either COPR/PR card ( 6-8 weeks from you land )

Landing immigrants will not have a valid visa AFTER you land, they will cross your Visa when you land as it is one way and one entry.

If you already have a US/US/Europe DL its still easy to transfer your DL.. the post was for somebody from India landing in canada and appying for DL.

No, you already have a DL in ON. You CAN drive in 400 series/QEW highways and all roads as long as your G2 is valid.
All you need to do is to get a G within the expiry date or your DL will go back to G1 ( means you can not drive unless a G driver is in your passenger seat with 5 years G experience )

Guys i have little confusion. i hope someone can help me.

The status of my application is "In process" It also says Medical results have been received.


Now when we click the link that says about What is In process, What is Withdrawn and What is decision made then here is the info:

In process:
Application received by CIC,
Documentation verified by CIC
An Interview may be required

Withdrawn:
Application Withdrawn

Decision Made:
Medical Results Received by CIC
Approval Status Determined(Approved or Rejected)
Permanent Residence Status Determined

Complete:
Applicant Arrives in canada and is granted permanent residence

My question is:
They said  "Medical results have been received" It should come under "Decision made" but it is still coming under "In Process"

What does that exactly mean?
If it would have been only "In process" without medicals info then i would have understood that they are doing BC and all that stuff. But if they say "Medical results have been received" it must come under Decision made

it does not mean that in process means always decision made....


it is just a system update which they are doing....

Is there still a chance of interview as the site is showing in process but there is nothing mentioned about any interview. Can they email, phone or send letter for interview at this point of time?

may i know the date when the status changed to in process. did it change to in process after the pp was received by CHC ND or earlier.
you told us that it took around one month for  In process to complete to Decision made.....  thx in advance

there is nothing certain with chc nd....it could come to decision made...or they may request for an interview...so at this point in time....all u have to do is just wait....and stay positive

Yep, you are correct. Ecas was updated on the 9th but it said they started processing the application on the 6th on June.
