Rachel...isnt that true that if ur canadian citizen..its ok if u go see ur spouse? cuz im really thinking to..im canadian and mite go see my wife in a week.. wud that hurt my application in anyway?
If you are a Canadian citizen, then you can absolutely go to visit your wife and it will not hurt your application in any way! In fact, if you are a citizen, you are allowed to sponsor your spouse while living entirely outside of Canada. You can't do this if you are a PR.

FURKAN, yes, if u r a canadian citizen den no prblm at all....as ariell said, u can even stay wid ur wife during d entire process....but u hav 2 show ties in canada like jobs, appt. lease, etc n convince VO dat u'll b back to canada....one member here cudnt do dat n their appln. got rejected n d spouse went back 2 canada n re-applied....so if u wanna visit for a week or more no prblm at all.... sanyrog told dat her husband is a PR n hence i adviced her dat way.....

Moreover, information from CIC (if they want any additional docs), and the sponsorship approval letter also (I believe) will go to the representative, since we have given their address as the mailing address and not ours. Hence I guess, CIC will contact them 1st before us. We chose this time frame for my husband to visit me, as this is the period in which our appln is not even opened.

@ sanyrog --- DON'T TAKE RISKS PLSSSSSSSS ....................................................... ITS BETTER TO CANCEL UR PLANS OF UR HUSBAND COMING TO VISIT U ATLEAST TILL U GET SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL .... EVERYBODY WHO HS APPLIED FOR PR HERE NEVER TOOK ANY RISK OF MEETING THEIR SPOUSE DURING THE PROCESS ..... AND PLS PLS PLS THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING A DECISION OF UR HUSBAND TRAVELLING TO SEE U ....

Chintu,
ok, will talk abt it to my husband. Do you think my rejection of tourist visa will have any negative impact on my PR?
don't worry there won't be impact ... i got invite from my cousin in canada and applied TRV twice before my marrige thinking tht i'll visit my husband before marriage and also thought of staying with him aftr marriage if my visa still have had validity .. but they rejected mine even after showing my employment n assets , etx etc etc .... then i was told tht thr won't be any impact on PR processing due to TRV rejections .... so don't worry .. be happy .. everything will finish in smooth manner ...

Chintu, Thanks a lot May be, when they ask for my passport in the future for PR stamping, I could mention abt this rejection in the cover letter. and yeah as u said, I will talk to my husband abt his trip, whether to take risk or is it safe to come for 2week vacation. Its very difficult to be away from our spouse for so long. Guess, it l be almost a yr when I get my PR

Ok, already its been 4months since we got married. And another 4months. So I said 1yr altogether And Btw, I didnt mention abt TRV rejection in the PR application. Because we filled our PR application during august mid and sent it to our representative and they verified and sent our PR application to their billing dept on Aug 27th. Assuming its already in the process of sending our appln, I applied for TRV oly on Aug 30th. Hence I couldnt mention abt TRV in my PR appln, as I hadnt applied one when I filled my PR details. My PR appln has reached Missisauga on Sep 1st, and ND rejected my TRV after that, i.e. on Sep 6th.

HEELOOO!!!! Glad to see our thread is buzzing with activity! WARM WELCOME - New Members, you all will be hooked on to this thread in no time. Sorry I could not log in earlier, all I would say is Delhi is full of action which keeps me busy =) Would miss it a lot when I leave. Coming back to the discussion: SANYROG: There is no problem whatsoever in making visits! Just ensure the visits are short i.e., 2-3 weeks! It actually further strengthens the relationship as it suggests that the partners do miss each other and long to be with each other. Later on, if ever the visa office asks for relationship proof after the file is transferred, you can always furnish travel docs. and pics of the visit! It is easier for the sponsor to make visits as it is difficult for the applicant to get a Visa to go to Canada while the app. is in progress. This is because the Visa Officer won't get convinced of the applicant's ties and intentions of coming back. It may not be out of place to mention here that my file got rejected last year as my wife, the sponsor, A CANADIAN PASSPORT HOLDER, stayed for the entire duration of file processing and the Visa Office was not convinced that she would return when the PR Visa is issued to me. So she went back after we received the rejection letter, took up a job and an apt. lease to prove ties @ Canada. At your leisure, feel free to go through my case: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/applied-rejected-reapplied-at-chc-new-delhi-story-so-far-t45486.0.htmlWanted to share this issue just so you all don't make the same mistake I committed! ALL: I sincerely recommend not to email, contact the Visa Office frequently. 1 or maybe 2 status queries does not hurt but beyond that it might tick off the Visa Officer. Just my personal opinion! I don't think havin a Rep. would delay the case in anyway. It will be treated like any other app. It only means that you have allowed another person to contact the Visa Office to receive information/correspondence on your behalf. Good Luck!! Rachel: Hope all is well!! Wishing you Happy Landings!! Make the most out of your time here. Im so glad you take some time out to post comments here. Minku9: Get ready for Tuesday buddy! This is it for us....Cheers! kunalbhavsar: So nice of you to have us in your prayers! Wishing your spouse speedy PR Visa approval! Good Luck. Good Luck all and enjoy while you still can in INDIA!
