when we start May thread u all guys not here but after came back Delhi i read all posts and so happy u all guys almost goat visas and getting ready to hug Ur own partners there which one is lovely thing .........

It is procedural! They just make you sign some papers and will stamp the B4 form. They will ask how much money you are carrying and will ask you for your address in Canada cz they will need that to mail you your PR card.

Hello Folks,
Sept. 04, 2010, my wife receive AOR,file number and visa office New Delhi requested to submit from items.
- Payment of Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to office in Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
- Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more.
- Submission of original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your accompanying family members.

On letter it stated: Passports cannot be returned to addresses outside of India, Nepal and Bhutan.
If your current mailing address is not in India, Nepal or Bhutan please provide an address in that territory.

Since my wife mailing address is in U.S.A. and not in above stated country.

Query to thread members:

attached Fedex return mail envelop***

I hae emailed tem irst on 3rd august and they replied me that background checks are going on
and then i emailed them o 12th and 13rd augst and reply comes pending review...

so i don't know why this is taking too much time ..

Xyrus i have qeustion for you ,

do you think if they need any more informatio they should ask between this 6 week after sending passport ?
i am believing that they din't ask anything in this 6 week , is that mean there is no query on file ?

just checked the ecas and its stll in process...
i dont know when the time will be over... !!

Abcone, i think they the ND Visa office do not send the passport back outside India. They seem to be very particular about it. I think you should give the India address of some relative where you are sure of receiving it.

BTW your and my timelines look exactly same. App filed on June 14th and Passport request received on 17th Aug.

Abcone,

It is illegal to mail/courier an Indian passport in or out of the country. Check the last page of your passport where it states this. You will not find any courier company who will agree to transport an Indian passport for you. I would also suggest that you don't try to send it by courier anyway and lie about the contents or try to hide the passport inside something (I'm not saying that you are planning to do this, but someone may suggest that you do this). You may get away with it but if you are found out you could be in alot of unnecessary trouble, like having the passport revoked.

So your only options are:
1. Your wife will need to return to India and then courier her passport to CHC New Delhi from within India and wait for it to be returned to her at an address in India.

2. You can have someone authorized to carry the passport to and from India for her. You will need to write a letter authorizing them to do this and make sure to get the letter notarized.

Singhboi - All the best to you! Thx much for sharing your landing experience with all of us. Will keep it in mind.

abcone - I agree. Do not Courier your wife's PP! She will have to be preset in India! Do not take a chance cz WHAT IF THEY CALL HER FOR AN INTERVIEW? At CHC Delhi, this is the first step towards application processing unlike other Visa Offices where PP is requested when visa is ready to be issued so you never know! On another forum, someone's app. got rejected cz the applicant was overseas, the PP was with CHC Delhi and the applicant could not show up for interview cz obviously he/she could not travel without PP. Good Luck!

kunalbhavsar - After submitting PP, no one knows how long it takes! Really!! We have no choice but to be patient and sit back. On an average, a lot of ppl have been getting PPs back with visa in 4-6 weeks so hope its not too long for u now. Good Luck.
