To save time, I will fill up the B4 list when I pack up my stuff. Following is the link of the form:

http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/b4-eng.pdf

There is a nice post which describes how to fill it:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/form-b4-goods-to-followaccompanying-list-how-to-t44793.0.html

You can carry any amount but have to declare it if its more than $ 10,000!

Xyrus the jewellery question was in my mind too but you asked it so I am not gonna repeat it.

Few questions to you :

1. I don't see any NEWCOMER box on the page 2 . which one we have to tick!!!

2. Can I take pickles and mention it!!

lol you will bring achaar?

I can assure you that you will find pretty good pickles if you live in/around toronto. But usually I try to stay away from bringing food items as they tend to cause trouble sometimes. I know ppl that have had their food items thrown away by airport officials and others who got in just fine. I'm not sure what they would do if you declared it though!

1. Tick bottom right box "Settler":
Tariff Item No. 9807.00.00 (Settler)

2. Pickles should not be a problem.
Meat & Meat products are a strict NO NO!!

Hi

What is this B4 form

A Form where you list out items you are getting along with you so that there is no tax/duty levied on it. The link I pasted in my previous post has all the info. I thought it would be better to fill it out during packing rather than filling it out when I land. You have to submit it to the customs officer when you land.

I hope I don't get into trouble for pasting the above links here but thought everyone can benefit out of it! Although most topics are applicable for FSW category but there are certain general topics as well from which we all can benefit from. Enjoy!

Hello,

I have been reading all the posts but dont have much to say so do not ost anything.

But was wondering, is this post only for those who have applied in the Family Class?

Has anyone applied in the professional or skilled immig class?

Are the Fam visas coming in faster?

We sent our passports on the 10th Aug and are of course waiting for the PR and visa stamp.

Passports have been sent to Delhi and we are living and waiting in London.

No change on our status for a long time, says, in Process- medicals received!

Wonder what is the status, pls reply anyone who can guess !!!

Hi all, I am new to the thread and am hoping that you can share your experiences with me and help me to stay positive!  Hopefully I am posting in the right place.

In reading the thread I see that all the posts are for Family Sponsorship (hopefully I am still in the right place Cheesy).  Is anyone under the conjugal partner category or is everyone here sponsoring as a spouse?  Just wondering if the conjugal partner visas are being processed as quickly as it seem the spousal ones are.

Our file was transfered to ND on Aug 18, 2010
Info in ECAS is still showing as not available.

Any feedback??

This is Family class section. There is a separate category - Skiiled Worker thread as well. Priority is given to Spouse & Dependent Visas. Such visas are issued within 3-4 months if all goes well and there is no additional doc. request or interview required!

No updates for today Huh?

All who got their visa are busy in shopping???

Rest are busy in praying god for an early visa stamping (i am definitely one among these) ??

I like your optimism Smiley Good going!

Welcome applied03! If all goes well and if there is no additional document request or interview required, it generally takes about 3 - 4 months. Good Luck! Wishing you speedy PR approval!

Welcome canindian! You are at the right place indeed! Most of us are under spousal sponsorship category. I read about one conjugal case sometimes back, most likely it was on this forum if i'm not mistaken. You might want to search/browse through previous pages on this thread. After my wife received the sponsorship approval letter in Canada, it took about 3 weeks for eCAS to update status stating that PR application processing has started on xxxx date! All the best!

hi everyone...i just wanted to know what FBI clearance is????i sent police clearance along with my application but what is FBI????is is anything else?Huh??

FBI police clearance is required for applicants who have stayed in the US for more than 6 months.
