We just got our visa today so wanted to give everyone my time-line as I have spent the past 3 months counting forward and backwards from other peoples time-lines!   

April 1, 2010: Mississauga received Application
April 30, 2010: Decision Made
May 2, 2010: ECAS Activated For the First Time
May 21, 2010: New Delhi Started Processing
May 24, 2010: ECAS shows In-Process for PR
May 26, 2010: AOR and Passport Request by Letter
June 4, 2010: Passport Submitted
June 19, 2010: Received Pictures
June 30, 2010: Sent Case-Specific Inquiry Email
July 5, 2010: Received email stating that application was under final review
July 6, 2010: Visa Issued
July 10, 2010: Received Passport

As of July 10, 2010, My ECAS still reads In-Process. 

I mentioned the email that we sent because I find it interesting that our visa was issued the day after we got a response from them. Whether the email helped or not, I really don't know. I just figured it didn't hurt to try!

We used the online form to send in our inquiry. We asked for confirmation that the passport was received and status on our case. I can find you the link if you need it.

congrats bythebook.......u hav an awesome timeline and i wish i have a speedy processing like yours for my 3 month old baby...its been 20 days since our file is transferred to new delhi and still ECAS shows "not available" for PR status   

I am just super depresssed now.......

Yes i sent my pp too to CIC new delhi,medical and landing fees on 14 june 2010 and i too still waiting for passport with the visa.

hai...when did your ECAS pr status change to "in process" after your file is trasferred to new delhi.just tell me the no. of days.was it before or after you got the PPR letter?

I can tell you its usually about 30 or so before you get the in process status.  Once they open your file you then your status will change.

hi bythebook... congrats! i didnt even wish u for ur visa. am really sorry... was missing my hubby so badly i concentrated only on my visa.. extremely sorry. even i had been thinking to find out if they received my passport.. i think i will wait for a couple of days and if no update from them, i will send a mail to them. and congrats once again

Rachel, there is no need to get depressed yet. My ECAS changed 24 days after my file was transferred. Mind you, I would not depend on it too much. Ours still shows In-Process even though we received the visa 2 days ago. It will happen very soon.

Thank you! One thing that I had thought would prolong our application was the fact that my husband has traveled outside of the country and is a PR of Australia. So I was trying to convince myself when we didn't receive it a week ago (as per all other recent approvals) that we would be in it for the long haul!

Glad u highlighted it! =) im even more positive now! cz I have a valid US Work Visa (H1B) till 2011 and 2 more valid visas ! thought that might be a deterrent and background checks would super duper delay the process!! dunno what guidelines Immigration follows to conduct BCs!.... will keep u all posted on my timeline/progress!!

Well, following up to what u guys said....i was in Canada for over 9 years...hopefully, they know all about me...do u think that can impact my timeline?

PR status changed today from 'Not Available' to 'In Process'. It says "We started processing application on July 7 2010".
