Hi Applied03,
Congrats again, finally that day has come now , wish you all the luck with your flight.
Just hold on to your COPR as the Immigration officer will be doing the paperwork with that when you land in Canada and on the immigration counter they will ask for your passport and COPR and might as questions about your SPOUSE name and the address where you going, so just relax.
May you have a safe and exciting journey !
Cheers; Panda

Immigrant visas to drop 5 per cent: records
Cuts would most affect overseas parents, grandparents
New figures indicate the federal government hopes to reduce overall immigration next year by five per cent, mainly by cutting back on family reunification visas.
Spouses, kids get priority: Kenney
Speaking in Etobicoke on Sunday, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney responded to plans to reduce family reunification visas, suggesting this is necessary so "priority" applicants — and their spouses and children — can be processed first.
"There have to be choices made," he said.
Figures from Citizenship and Immigration Canada show the government will issue about 11,000 visas this year to parents and grandparents of Canadian residents, down from more than 16,000 last year. (Tom Hanson/Canadian Press)Among the hardest hit by the lower immigration targets will be parents and grandparents seeking to join their children in Canada, according to numbers obtained from the Citizenship and Immigration Department through the Access to Information Act.
Kurland told CBC News the slashed rate and the 140,000 applicants already in the queue mean a parent could wait 13 years for a visa if he or she were to apply today.
Read more: http://www.cbc.ca/politics/story/2011/02/12/canada-immigration-rates.html#ixzz1Dtv5sym7Looks promising for SPOUSES but it's bad for parents/grandparents now as it will take 13 years who apply today for his or her parents/grandparents. Lets c if they can really SPEED UP the spouses cases, thats what we want. Cheers; Panda

How did New Delhi send your passports back. Was it thru courier or normal post.
Did the guy take any signature/acknowledgement ?

Hello All
Are Client ID or File # assigned by CPC-M for sponsor and New Delhi for applicant different?? Or it is same for both?
I plan to pay RPRF without delay (I didnt pay it at the time of filing application). Which Client ID should I mention on the RPRF payment receipt?

Hi Mikoo,
As your processing time went beyond supposed 6 months,
Did you asked CHC the reasons of delay?
Coz you can ask, and they should give you detailed answer.
If you are requesting an update on the status of your case, you should not expect a detailed response unless the estimated processing times listed on Processing Times have elapsed since you made your application. You may wish to consult Client Application Status (for permanent resident applications) or VFS (for temporary resident applications). this is from CHC-Nd website.
and your 6 months processing time has passed now.
take care.
yes for my application its more than 6 months now,,,ND called me on 21st dec,,,, and after 3 days of tht they sent e-mail to me stating my application is under background chk,,,,,and they also mentioned tht they cant predict how much time they will need to issue visa after ths reply they dint responded to any of my or my husbands-emails >:(still they cant figure out anything from my background ,,,,,where as i dont have travel history,,,not involved in politics or any govt /social services or criminal activities ,,,,i wonder wht they want to know more from background chk?since 2 months they r doing the same not responded to any of my e-mail,,,,me and my husband are fed up with them,,,,but now i m thinking abt MP anyway thanks alot Sahi:)

But dont just ask MP to only inquire status of your application. coz ND will give same reply to him, that either they are doing BG check, or final review. Rather tell MP to ask them to expediate process, and send visa soon, as your is simple and straight case...and why they are taking so much time. Its week now and they are not responding to my Email Anyway..i Wish you guys will get visa this week. Be Positive. TC

TC Yes we will do tht!!!!dont know y they r taking this much time for BC,,,,,they wont reply also,,,,but i think in ur case they have already consider ur Med's and i think they dont need ur new med's thts y they didnt ask for,,,somewhere in same forum i read b4 tht they have extended med's and issued visa telling applicant must land b4 the extended date of med's,,,,but if u r abt to do med's again thn also it will helpful,,,rest all only ND knows,,,they r very much flexible with their rules and regulations as long as they r concerned and if it comes to us then it will be disrepect and wht not i want all of us must get visa now,,,its hard to stay apart from spouse
