Hey guys, thanks for the info.
One more myth ppl seem to talk..does the processing time differ by state? like i have heard it takes them more time to do apps from some north indian states compared to the south?
cos more fake marraiges are caught, they have a different guideline by each state these days?

Delhi professes that it takes them within the first month of receiving your file from CPC-M to start file review. So, in that sense, technically it should be 1 month, however, this is arbitrary....

As for the processing time, it has been well publicized they are cracking down on marriages of convenience that seem to be coming from Punjab (named as a specific target due to recent events). So, although it doesn't say that processing will be slower, it is safe to assume it is always possible depending on the state you are in. My husband lived in Punjab... so let's see.

They don't talk about the application receive, however, remember Delhi doesn't send the AOR letter now, so this is your confirmation that it has been received at the VO, in place of a AOR letter. Mine "application received" has only been there 2 weeks I think. I know they have started looking at my file, because I have been asked for more documents in a second letter just received this past Monday. So obviously they are processing.

Hope i not asking any private details, but what extra documents did they ask for? i sumbitted every thing as what they quoted..pics, phone bills, flight tickets, entry stamps on passport etc..
are they asking for anything which t hey did not mention in the guide..
just preparing myself and others in case they ask for extra documentation..not sure what that "extra" means :-)

Well they can ask for anything they want. And yes they asked me for something outside of the guide. I had a 1st marriage 10 years ago. I sent the divorce certificate (as in the guide) but now they want my petition and the judge's orginal orders. So they can ask you for other things to look into your application to sponsor your wife.

My case is the docs are just more percise to my case but not sure why they want them.

I am not sure if it takes long for some states , I think it depends on the complexity of the case and a lot on the VIsa officer assigned to the case, we will come to know the trend by the end of FEB about WTF is ND doing and how is it working, I just want the case to get cleared fast before they change the immigration rules or before they decrease the quota again.

We will see, Patience is the key !

Even if they change the rules, how it has always worked in the past, is you are given the benefit of the old rules if you are in processing before the new ones come into play.

The complexity of the case definetely has an impact for sure, but they are scrutinizing applications from India now. This is out of the ministers mouth, after he held a city hall meeting. This is in large part due to all the publicity those few cases that took place in Toronto this summer, where one spouse got off the plane after landing, got PR and walked straight past his sponsor and never seen her again. And the second case of the woman in the wheelchair from polio, where a very similar situation happend and her spouse called her after landing and getting PR and told her he had no intention of living with her. So they are cracking down. It is unfortunate that these cases, with the stupidity of others, are ruining a system for legitimate couples waiting to be re-united.

So true..and i also feel for the officers who decide on our case, they always think we are guilty unless we provide proof.
but ND reall sucks man. this is way too much laziness for processing applications when ppl have sent in all documents as in the guide..
as PANDA said..patience is the key..drink lots of beer and wait for the best :-)

Hi dear,
My first update on E-CAS came on 25 Jan 2011. It reads.
Application received on 8 Nov 2010.
"Medicals Received"

Then on 04-Feb-2011 , "Medicals received" was taken off.

Now its left with - Application received on 8th Nov 2010.

I guess i will do with medicals again, without waiting for their response...this is better idea.

Dont worry about ecas status. Usually status would be In Process and Decision made. off late, delhi has been updating Application Received instead of In Process, for few ppl. They have st away changed Appln Received to Decision Made. so just dont worry abt ecas status. They dont mention anything abt PPR at all in the status.

And yeah, new delhi visa office sucks!!!!!!!!!!

All the spouses in India, you all should enjoy the time you are in India because you all will miss Incredible India very much when you come here,and when you will go back to India you will miss Canada as everybody does. So we should find the good even in the bad times.

May everybody gets visas fast.
