That's what they are doing, I hope it doesn't effect the spouses at ll, but overall they said the total visas are also reduced and they reduced the Parents/ Grandparents Visas so I think Spouse visas should be OK here

But you never know, we all will be lucky if we get pass through this

Hi Guys,
Just joined this forum. I am a Canadian PR and am sponcering my wife. Last year around June my friend's sponcership was approved so fast and their spouses got their Visa withing 75 days. Well, now after September i guess the CHC Delhi really sucks and takes forever to even update a status on ECAS. I am sure i will meet so many ppl who share the same frustration. So here is my case.

Application Sent : Nov 22, 2010
Sponcership Approved : Dec 24, 2010
File transfered to India : Jan 4, 2010

STATUS : Application Received.

This is what the f**** ECAS is saying for 5 weeks now.

We received "your WIFE name" application for permanent residence on January 4, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

I do understand that is not a long wait compared to others, but still last summer they did the whole process within 3 months. No idea why they need their sweet A @  @  time in Delhi to issue clearance...Winter will be over in a few weeks and i can't wait to get my wife here..

Keeping fingers crossed everyday and my wife is stressed already to the core

Regards,
Freddy

I am starting to really think it has to do with this news article about them cutting back, even though it doesn't mention a target to spouses, it appears this could be a cause..

I think it has to do with the annual quota.
Maybe they have a huge backlog from Oct-Dec..and they are trying to finalize everything in the new year. Immigration always works as per planned numbers. That could be a reason why ppl who applied before September got it so fast and everyone who applied after that are delayed.
Just my thoughts with my previous exp with immigraton.

Nylalisa case was transfered on Jan 6 and got the PPR on Jan 31st and Fprince was transfered on Jan 4 and didn't received anything yet

Visa officers are working in mysterious circumstances, They should update the ECAS every 2-3 weeks and put notes there that WTF are they doing with the files

  @    Goodnews;

Mine still says > Application received.When I click on Application recived it says, We received your application on January 24th and Medical Results have been received .

May be it changes to In Process only after they receive the passport, so just expect for our PPR in FEB sometime.

You are my lead :-)

Cheers;
Panda

Hi Panda,

Mine says the same thing. App received. No more updates after that.
I just joined the "PPR Waiting club ".
Still no idea if they will change the status to Inprocess or directly send a letter for PPR..

Confused as there seems to be no process for these guys to follow in ND.

Hi Fprince;

Does your wife has any foreign travel on her passport ?

The reason I am asking is that cases that are straight forward with no complexities and no foreign travel the trend is usually they don't send PPR to them right away and they only send them PPR when they are ready to grant the VISA.

Cases where there could be complexities of foreign travel or a Dependant or second marriage they usually send the PPR to them right away to check things

So thats why I am asking about it

Hey Panda,

No she does not. I am not sure if the travel oustide has anything to do with this.
Shouldn't this be covered in your PCC and other Police clearance when you live outside?
The way they process is unpredicatable, everyone has something different.
My only frustration is that the app is still RECEIVED and seems to never change.
Is there a timeline for the PPR request these days? Mine has been sitting in ND for 5 weeks now.

I don't think it has anything to do with that, what I would try to verify is that nothing has gone missing in the mail as with regards to letters from ND. You can check foreign travel via a passport but what would a second marriage have to do with requesting? My friends have missed plenty of deadlines because they never got their letters from ND. It seems these days have been making early PPR then normal regardless of the cases. It's easier to have the PP on file as they have admitted time and time again in correspondence that they get large volumes of mail everyday which slows down the process of putting PP on file. Therefore it makes more sense (although an inconvenience to us) that they keep the passports on fle early so when they are ready to issue, they have them and they don't have to send out letters, then wait for them to come back and then wait to actually fish them out of mail and issue.

Does anyone have a timeframe as to when the application received will change to in process? In process is when they request for PPR? confused.

I have PPR, but my e-cas says nothing about it being In Process yet. I think PPR is done first for most cases now, before they start the processing. As soon as mine changes I will let everyone know.

For me it changed In process straight. I did not see the received message ever. They did a mass update at that time for lot of people. May be thats why. But now the status says Applciation was received on XXXX date and we started processing it on YYYY Date. medicals were received. That is where it is stuck for last month or so.
