Sorry I am not Sanyrog but I am gonna answer this for you....

It's asking whether the sponsor or the sponsor's family was related to the person the sponsor was marrying (before they got married). IE: were you siblings, cousins, was anyone from your family related to your spouse that way before marriage... etc etc....If yes, what is the relationship?

I was talking about this on another thread, but here it is in our thread because this Embasy seems to like to jump the gun a bit and then slow down to a grinding halt....

Getting a PPR early is great for some, but I wonder if they take into account those who live abroad. This would be for any embassy actually. My husband for instance lives in Greece currently on a temporary resident/worker visa. He must be in possession of his passport at all times. Police are known to (on a daily basis) stop foreign nationals and ask for their passports. Failure to produce your passport results in immediate detention in jail. So for him to receive a PPR at the beginning of the process, where they will hang onto it for months is impossible for him. His only solution in such a case, is to give up his job, return to India and wait it out, and this is considering that our case could go either way.

I know they have their methods of working but honestly, for any Embassy to do this, if it is not located in your current city of residents is just plain stupid. Even for Greece the closest embassy is Rome, which still wouldn't work out. LOL Sorry just felt like venting a bit because I am frustrated by all the stories from applicant's who are being given trouble when they just want to be with their families again.

Thanks nylalisa, so basically if you have a blood relationship, in this case it wouldn't be no, as here is the family tree
ME > My Dad > My Grand Father >  <<THE BIG FATHER>> < Great Grand Father < Her Grand Father < Her Father < SHE

So summary of this is My Grand Father and Her Great Grand Father were brothers, so please tell me what I should say.

Thanks for all the help,

DNT, as long as u guys r related by any means, u gotta explain that. Not just blood relation.

Nylalisa,

I absolutely agree with that. Since they hold our ppt, we cant even see our spouses overseas, anywhere outside canada. Lets say we both have US visas, still we cant meet there, as they hold the applicant's ppt for days,weeks,monthssssssss.. so frustrating! They shud really ask for the ppt, oly when the visa is ready. In such a way, they can return the ppt in 1 - 2weeks.

Agreed with Sanyrog, even though you are both distant cousins (cousin's once or twice removed I think is how they say it, I'm probably wrong on the exact terms so excuse me), there is still some blood lineage there which means you have to explain it.

And Sanyrog, exactly, my point and my second point about the PPR is what if he is refused in the end... he has been forced to give up his job because he can't stay in his present country of residence because they want his passport. I mean I understand that this was my choice and his choice to marry and try for PR but there has got to be a better process then this... what is the point to taking PPTs so early... not all embassies do this.

Thanks guys for helping me out, but this is the part that my wife has to fill, and question is both ways, now who do I put on there?
I hope you guys can help me out please.

This is what she will put for the question number 7:
MY NAME (my husband related to me as) >> 2nd cousins once removed
MY WIFES NAME (I am related to my husband as) >> 2nd cousins once removed
My WIFES FATHER NAME (my father related to my husband as) >> 2nd cousins
My FATHER NAME (my husbands father related to me as) >> 1st cousins twice removed

The above mentioned is what I will put in the 4 lines provided, I hope this makes sense, as the question asks both ways.

Please clarify,

Thanks,

For your information folks :

New Delhi Processing Times - Permanent Resident cases: Family Class

We continue to work hard to make our processing of Family Class applications as efficient as possible, while at the same time bearing in mind the capacity of our settlement community to support and assist newcomers with their transition toward making Canada their home.

Processing times may vary depending on the number of new applications received and the individual complexity of each application.

Time to Initial Review:              Within 1 month
Time to Interview (if required):  Within 2 months
Time to Finalization:                Within 6 months

Sponsored Spouses, Partners, and Children

Processing times for these applications are calculated from the date on which the application is accepted by Case Processing Centre - Mississauga.

Please note that we do not send an Acknowledgement of Receipt for sponsored spouse, partner, and child applications, given that they are processed very quickly.  You can check the status of your case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application Status.

After your application is received, it proceeds directly to a review.  Once the review is completed, we will contact you to advise the results of the review and any next steps you need to take.  If your address or contact information changes during processing, you must inform this office in writing.

Note : If your case is within the 6-month processing standard, we will not respond to any case status enquiries.

 @  DNT

Your wife only needs to list you or her and your relatiosnhip to each other prior to marriage, to put both of your names down is just repeating the info. Listing her name and her relationship covers both of you. Then focus on all the other family ties. The rest of it is fine. Name and relationship to whomever, sponsor or applicant. Ie; Wife's Father's name - 2nd cousins to spouse. Keep everything as simple as possible.

Panda: i saw that myself...hope they adhere to it. Im ok waiting up to 6mths lol because i knew that frm before i applied. Altho less wait would be awesome! When do u expect to get PPR at the earliest..in another 2 wks or so.

if u look earlier on this thread about 5 ppl mid-summer - got PPR early n were issued their visas 1-2 mths after so in total they waited only 2-3 mths. WOW! Saw some ppl have similar time lines on another forum too.  Which is promising! Im thinking positively...i have to..ottherwise i'll go nutts. Hoping it wont be a long wait! Each case is different. Seems if they ask for interview or additional docs ur process slows down...must think positively..no one wants these 2 things!!

"Nylalisa:
Maybe they will take this into account n not issue PPR letter early!!!
Im talking about the embassy.
Why dont u call mississauga or new delhi for general info.
Nothing case specific.
A what if kind of Q.
Also rather than just worryingabout is there anything ur husband can do..i mean show proof of the sponsorship...anything? Look into it so u r ready if he is asked for PPR,
I have heard sometimes they ask forit early for backgr checks, but do they need mths to do it..i thinknot.
It seems it is a cause to worry in ur husband's case...well hope it works out.
One thing i do want to ask u..what if ur hubby was asked for PPR not early but near the end nthey took 2 mths to give it back...thats normal..within those 2 mths he could b stopped by police..?? What would he do then? Also when they ask for PPR u nver know when they'll issue visa...it could be 1 mth or 2 or 4 with ND..so dont assume if ur hubby gets it early they wont issue visa early too u nver know!!! "

 @  Missinghim,

I reposted this here, cuz I felt bad hijacking that other thread for this.... since it was about a completely different topic....

Anyways, from what I heard is you either send it or you delay it... I mean send it when it's requested. Either way, for my husband, he will defientely have to go and stay in India once they ask for the PPT. Even if it's one month or 4 months...It is too risky to be without a passport in Greece, even as a visitor, I needed to carry my passport around everyday, just in case. So he will have no choice.. unfortunately. Ideally, yes, they will ask for it at the last minute, he will take it there and they will issue visa relatively fast. Worst case scenerio is they ask for it, he leaves his job and he wont get a visa at all. Let's see, I try to stay positive about these things.
