What you been up two? I do not understand why ND taking too much time in issuing visas? why cannot they speed up the process!!!

When did your application go to "In Process" ?

 @ CandaiansWife: That's the thing...my application never went to "In Process" like NewDelhi however yours did. NewDelhi just got stuck on backgrd checks because of travel to the UK so hopefully yours is just stuck on that...I dunno but if that is the case...it can't take much longer can it 

I'm so worried about our case  my husband has lots of travel history and to top it off they asked for info which we sent them but they still haven't change the status to in progress....really waiting for those CAIP notes we ordered.....

hi cival....just telling u our lawyer told us not to contact our mp until the 6 months in New Delhi are up...he said more effective that way...i dunno if he's just talking a bunch of **** and **** but we are listening to our lawyer

My guess is you have been called as they doubt your intention of marriage for reasons such as a hasty wedding, few witnesses, no honeymoon (initially) and yes the lawyer's statement that you will have a wedding reception but did not have one.. You should have asked for your CAPS notes which would have helped you better understand the situation but what's done is done.

Make sure that your's and your spouse's story match... give them detailed understanding of "work commitments" . State facts as much as you can as they dont reason much with emotions or sentiments. Above all be confident, talk straight to their face, show that you really care for each other. Take evidence of communications that you guys are having pre and post marriage (emails, bills and whatever you can lay your hands on). The fact that she has visited you after marriage is a good sign...

This forum has a section where possible interview questions are listed but my guess is that they will question you more on your wedding and aftermath....

i remember something unusual happened during your first stage (some prior delay right???) so even though on your signature it says applied Sept it also got trfed to ND in Sept...this is a very long process

looks like i am not alone what irritates me the most is that, they ecas status is a POS. i dont know why we should "apply" for CAIPS notes. y have an ecas system and a CAIPS system ? i cant believe that they didnt think of integrating them both. uhh usual govt red tape !!! i booked my tickets for apr 23, now have to change . they didnt ask me for any extra documents(except passport) and yet ppl who applied on dec 30 have visa but not me. makes no sense to me :|

After 6 months we can file for a status req in the cic website itself. but lets hope it wont take that long . my wife did her medicals in oct. so it is expiring this month dunno what happens . i dont want her to take medicals again cos by the time they receive the results it will be june/jul.

dinmab don't worry meds expire in a year not in 6 months.

also, 6 months for 80% processing time is counting from date you are approved at MISSI not date you applied at MISSI.
For example, if application filed end aug and
approved mid nov and trfed to ND then
6 months are not over yet..they will be over in month of may

I will be changing tickets next week, don't know if its a good idea to postpone it further, since we can't judge the date.
There are lots of friends who applied before us, so my plan is to cancel the ticket and forget about it. Passport will come when its the right time

Yes I am in Canada applying for my wife I tried not to check ECAS status for some days and not talk about it to my wife, but its not at all possible.

Thanks again for your reply Cival. Yes, try to contact your M.P and request them/push them to inquire about your case. I can understand your feelings as I am also going through the same here without my wife. Only emails and phone calls each day.

My advance wishes for your wedding anniversary! Do you have any plans of visiting India in the near future. For me in 2 months, its going to be our anniversary and I am trying to go to India soon.

Its been 38 days since we submitted passport to ND and no news. I just dropped an email to my MP explaining the situation and the unwanted need of New Delhi to ask and retain passport when they're not ready to issue a visa.

Hope I get some response / help from the MP.
