No Idea... You can have a look at the spreadsheet to see various timelines... But going by the current trend, from the recent In Process to DM updates, its happening anywhere between 2-3 weeks. Mine went to In Process on Feb-25, its been just over two weeks and I am waiting myself. But going by the trend, you should see something in couple of weeks. But nothing is sure. Makes sense...Appreciate it..Thanks

Hi All, I'm new to this forum so don't really know how soon people share their views but i believe it won't take long time. And I believe that experts provide information quickly.
Anyways, Please note that i applied for PR visa for Canada. My Wife sponsered me in April 2011 and she has been granted as sponser in June 2011. She already received Acknoledge receipt from Missesuga. Out file got transfered to New Delhi in June 2011 and In September 2011, It has started processing.
Ecas status was reflecting In Process till last month,
"We received XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX application for permanent residence on June 30, 2011. We started processing XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXs application on September 28, 2011. Medical results have been received."
But a month back the status has been changed back to Application Received from In Process and the text remained the same.
CIC requested my Passport in November 2011 and it was sent to them on a very next day.
Could anyone please advice if they have faced this or experts can you please help me.
Hey My timeline is the same. application received by ND on June 29th... and I was in England for 5 yrs... and had the same issue where the status changed to application recieved in Oct.. till date no news. keep saying it is in background checks. No request for docs or interview. straight case except travel history.

its unfortunate this happened, but sadly your wife should've been aware of the requirements and residency obligations. Lot of people who get their PR sometimes go back within first few months thinking PR is permanent and forget to realize there are obligations and conditions to satisfy in order to maintain your PR status. For your wife, she can renew her PR card however she would need to justify why she was living outside of the country for this long. if she is unable to then she would lose her PR status and would need to start from scratch again. depending on what happens to her, you will need to reapply for your PR visa. So I would guess at least another year before you can get your PR if not more depending on what happens to her application first. Details about maintian pr status and Residency obligation http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp#keep_statusinfo about PR card and how to renew or apply for it. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/index.aspHi all, This is my first post on this site. I have applied for canada PR Visa under Spouse sponsourship in Aug-2011, Case received at Delhi CHC on 14 sep 2011, passport requested in OCt-2011, Passport submitted on Oct-2011, Since then there is no communication from there side. We contacted through MP office for our status in March2012, and we got reply that as my wife had not completed 730 days of stay in canada after getting her visa, hence they are not issuing my visa. My wife got visa in 2006, she went to canada return back to india after 1 month, here we got married and stayed togeather since then, now we have decided to permanantly move to canada, hence since May2011 my wife is in canada and had filed my application. M Wife's PR Card is going to expire in July 2012 and till then also her total stay in canada will be of 436 days only i.e. less then 730 days. Kindly suggest what to do soon,, Can we apply for renewal of PR Card before it get Expire in July 2012? ? What are the chances of PR Card getting Renewed? ??

Yeah they asked me detailed description of my stay in England. As in, what I have done and also asked to send docs.
Which i have already submitted 3 months back and till then I'm waiting.
Is it normal for applicants with foreign travel history/stay to take longer to process?

@ cricket365 how come you/your spouse sent your application to CPC-M and not Vegreville? why didn't you use the process for applying within canada? I am assuming you have a legal status while you are in canada like TR visa, student visa, work visa etc? just curious why you chose the other option vs this simplier one? Hi Friends,
I have few questions , If I get any reply on this that would be great. My case approved by CPC-M on 27th February. It was sent to ND. My Ecase update is showing this. We received your application for permanent residence on January 6, 2012. Medical results have been received.
1) What does Medical received means? Does that mean ND received my application too? and they started processing it?
2) I am in Canada right now , So r they going to send me the PPR at Canadian address or Indian address or via email?

yeah cause CIC has to wait for background check reports from those countries and it depends on their workload on when they send those back after receiving the request from the visa office. Is it normal for applicants with foreign travel history/stay to take longer to process?

Ok, does anyone happen to know when they do background check for some other country, does it go through nearby VO? or do they communicate directly with that country's police department? For example, if the applicant has U.A.E foreign travel history and it is going through New Delhi, does the VO in New Delhi talk with VO in U.A.E or talk directly to the police department in U.A.E? I know this is a strange question about the inner workings of the process, but I am wondering if anyone happen to know this.

typically they are sent through speedpost and the postman is supposed to get signature to confirm delivery. now, it all depends on your area postman. if you know him well, then he can asked to leave it at the trusty neighbor's house, or anywhere else you and him agree upon; or he can just hold it until a certain date. Again, it is his discretion. maybe you can give him some "chai-paani" in advance for this
