Time to see some DM from july/aug guys. ur address is also missing ,,,, i got no update on my ecas... let c if i can get my redo medical letter or straight DM without redo medical...i know its not possible but u neva know |

Hi jai1980, So it seems like you applied in April/May? that is a long time, things seemed to have moved quickly initially and came to a standstill after the interview. Do you mind telling us what were the additional docs they asked for? Also they say "It will be reviewed in accordance with its place in the queue for applicants in this category, based on the application received date.". Your application was received in ND on June 8, 2011, So i think it should have priority. Maybe someone here can shed some light. |

hey guys, my spouse's e-cas changed to 'in process' last evening, after being 'application received' for sometime now (see below my user name for the timeline). details are as follows:
we started working on your application on 10-feb. medical results have been received
Question. is this any indication of where my process is? they have the passport already, and it changed after they received it. should I expect a DM soon, or is it pretty normal for it to stay on 'in process' (along with the rest of the status) for a long time.

I have submitted request for legal name change in BC from Vital Statistics agency.
Q1. Once name is changed, is it valid in BC only or in complete Canada?
Q2. I need to get name on the PR card changed once my legal name gets changed. Do I have to send my still valid PR card back to CIC or I can keep it and give them back once they ask me to get the new PR card with my name changed?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

- you should confirm that with the Vital Statistics Agency. My guess is that it is Canada wide, if not worldwide

congratulations. It seems like your case is moving pretty smoth compared to other cases at ND.
We should expect Sep/oct cases to go to in process soon.

I called CIC and they told me that keep the card and send application and once new card is issued with new legal name, collect it from near cic office and hand over the old card. I am in big relief now because in case during pr card replacement, if I need to go outside canada, I can still go with my existing pr card. @ thecoolguysam
