I call this "double standards" a rule for them and a rule for the people. I am right in calling Kenny a "Bum" They can fake anything in thier own interests and they do it because they judge it as "OK" but they dont want people to "fake" marriages. I am totally against any "faking" or "lies" That is how I would bring up my kids and tell my wife. Truth and Honesty is a non negotiable attribute. Whatever may be the situation, and however trivial it is - No Lies. Survival has no meaning-without principles, success is only secondary and not expected always, "fun" is a "Zero Value" goods, Live for "Honor" and "Pride" nothing else matters in life!

Hi Guys,
I have an urgent question. My wife got her passport with the PR last Wednesday. She is planning to come to Edmonton for 2-3 weeks. So basically she will do her landing say next week and leave after two-three.
I was wondering whether you need to be physically present in Canada till you get the PR card. I am guessing it is not required. Can anyone suggest ?
Also, is it ok if she travels back without the PR card. She will be going for a month or two back to India. By that time I will post her PR card to India so that she can come back.
I think there shouldnt be any problems with the above two approaches. What do you guys suggest ?
Thanks, RF
Hey buddy, I agree with what singhson said. In my opinion, you should contact CIC and let them know of your plan. The reason I'm saying this is because a friend of mine, who applied for Canadian PR from US, landed in Calgary, stayed here for a couple of days, applied for his SIN card and went back to US after that. He gave my address to get his PR and SIN cards mailed. I received his SIN card after 2 - 3 weeks but recently I received a letter from CIC Calgary asking him to physically come to the Calgary CIC office and submit his passport photographs and also a document was sent by CIC for him to sign. He never informed CIC before he left. I don't know how he's going to enter Canada now? Well, my suggestion would be to please find out more about this. Ajay

@ gursikhphysio, thats awesome you are a physiotherapist. you must see all the good and the ugly cases, patients waiting endlessly for their turn to see a specialist or surgeon. I've seen some minor improvements with the primary care network. eg my mom needed to see a specialist, which she got to see in 6 weeks and then specialist setup couple follow ups along with a MRI. the MRI appointment is in 2 months. 2 months are still far but its better than before. if it was life threatening than MRI could have been sooner. But the root cause of this problem still remains, not enough practioners. Another friend of mine her husband and herself both are doctors and they currently are writing their licensing exams for canada, they are from US (born and raised) but want to move to canada. those exams are killer and such time consuming, being american doesn;t help either, still so hard for them to get into the system. any ways we can talk about numerous such cases but it will be of no use. Singhson, i am very impressed by your knowledge and you are definitely an asset to everybody here. I think alberta is one of the toughest province to get your license for medical practice. Alberta has its own exam and now they have just introduced another examination for foreign educated physicians. The waiting times are humungous. Today if somebody is injured, to book an mri in Calgary, he has to wait for a minimum of 10 to 12 months. And further to see a surgeon, he has to wait for 3 to 4 months after his mri. The specialist would not even touch a patient without mri. Ya, for private mri, the waiting time is 2 minutes and the minimum cost is 800$. There is a shortage of physicians and specialist. And because of this shortage the existing physicians are paid very well. They can charge anything. If the physicians supply increase there overall pay would be affected.
@ shiva
I am a physiotherapist. Patients here are booked for surgeries on a priority basis. Work related injuries are given high priority. If you are below 55, you have to wait for a very long time to get your knee replaced. The health care system is ruled by physicians and they have a very tight grip. They would not allow foreign educated physicians or any other health care professionals to take over

@ siva politicians are all the same regardless of country, india canada samething. lets see if he apologies to the house and canadians. well said person's integrity is everything once you lose that people stop respecting you. you have a good moral compass. btw i might be in calgary next week. depending on timings i'll ping you. I call this "double standards" a rule for them and a rule for the people.

Hi, everyone
I should have known I'd start second guessing myself once the application was filed ... anyway, looking for some advice now ... in regard to the 6 recent photos that had to be submitted as per Appendix B, I realize now that we didn't get the photographer's stamp on the back of the photos to indicate the date or verify that they were a true image of my husband. The instructions only said: "6 recent photos" but do you think I needed that stamp anyway? Other than that we did follow the photo specs regarding size, white background, etc.
