What changes do you think we need in the health care sector?

Quantitative reforms.
Currently wait times are very high from the casual visitor to a major Knee Surgery
We need to look at the supply vs demand data and the government action plan and commitment.
And need to know where we are going. How is the current plan and policy.
are they implemented or just a "hog wash"

What is the benchmark?

Are you Physiotherapist?
My sister is one

I feel the health care system is overloaded and there is shortage of specialists in canada. There shoulde be some privitization of the health care system specially for consultations so that the patient don't have to wait for months to see a specialist.

Overloading is not correct.
Under supplied is correct.

Privatization, i dont understand North American ideology
They are so much against communism and socialism
Everything is privatised including Electric Supply

Why not health care?
There are vested interests.

Hey Guys, Kindly give suggetions

As ND-CHC sent me PPR on 25/01/2012
now i want to resign my current job and i have to give one month advance notice to my employer.
I'm confused now wehether to resign or wait for another one month, as ND-CHC generally takes 2 months (+/- 15 days) for issuing visa after PPR.
kindly suggest.

Regards.
Jagmeet.

Don't even think about quitting yet. Just take your time as ND will take their time. As soon as you see DM on your file, you could give them a notice.

Singhson, i am very impressed by your knowledge and you are definitely an asset to everybody here. I think alberta is one of the toughest province to get your license for medical practice. Alberta has its own exam and now they have just introduced another examination for foreign educated physicians.
The waiting times are humungous. Today if somebody is injured, to book an mri in Calgary, he has to wait for a minimum of 10 to 12 months. And further to see a surgeon, he has to wait for 3 to 4 months after his mri. The specialist would not even touch a patient without mri. Ya, for private mri, the waiting time is 2 minutes and the minimum cost is 800$. There is a shortage of physicians and specialist. And because of this shortage the existing physicians are paid very well. They can charge anything. If the physicians supply increase there overall pay would be affected.

 @ shiva

I am a physiotherapist. Patients here are booked for surgeries on a priority basis. Work related injuries are given high priority. If you are below 55, you have to wait for a very long time to get your knee replaced. The health care system is ruled by physicians and they have a very tight grip. They would not allow foreign educated physicians or any other health care professionals to take over

2.Once we do medicals do they give us any evidence for medicals done which we can submit to CIC?
3.Mumbai PCC sucks(sori for foul language) after two weeks we came to know they need more documents that to when we checked status online they didn't call us?
4. I just have one rent receipt for whole year will that suffice as proof of my accommodation?

The Poor MD from Bangalore whom I met in the bus just said "The medical profession here is run by "Mafia""
he tried a lot he said but he is going back to India. I asked him to take some time since 6 months is too short to give up.

Hello People,
The parcel I sent to my wife by Air through Canada post reached safely and intact.
It contained 8 Packs X 30 Almond Joy chocolates.

I was very anxious and wary about Customs in India because I heard many bad stories.
It seems it was there for two days in Customs.

Canada post provided full online tracking till destination in India
The parcel weighed 6 kgs, cost $204 dollars and reached home in two weeks.
It was a box of 14" X 18" X 14"

Please note that to India gifts upto the value of Rs. 5000 can be sent by Air or Post only
and will not attract customs. Please mention in the packing slip as "Gift" and write the contents

(I forgot to write Gift,,however it reached.)
