dark hair and dark eyes do not make you an Indian girl Tongue Tongue Tongue

The only thing that makes us Indian or say non Canadian is our accent. So if you were raised and studied in Canada and having a shiny white skin, you will look a non Indian lady/girl ( I dnt know your age  Tongue)
On top of that you are punjbai so I believe your skin is quite fair and it becomes smooth after living canada for so many years....so I would not blame those girls Cheesy Cheesy

Kuku ji, I said stereotypes for Indian people, which is dark hair and dark eyes. Sad to say, but stereotypes do exist.

I do have light skin, but not sure about shiny! lol... Shiny means oily... which means acne...which means bad!

I don't live in Canada, and I have not visited there before. I live in the United States of America (where there are less Punjabi people, more ignorance and more stereotype). My husband lives in Canada, and he is my sponsor. I'm being sponsored from the New Delhi office, since I'm an Indian citizen (Jai Ho!)

Thanks for making it clear canadian husband ki desi wife ji !!!

Where are you in the USA ?

I know why you chose new Delhi office Cheesy Cheesy  Tongue

I live in Atlanta, Georgia... the good 'ol South! Gotta love 'em. YEEEHAAAA!!! Gitty up!

Ok on the serious side, Yes, although it's a blessing that I'm doing my application from the ND office, because the process is much faster than the US office- but I had no choice. I'm in the USA only on the basis of a work permit, meaning i Don't have a permanent status in the US, so I have to apply from the ND office.

One thing that I'm really stressed out about is, making the decision to go to India personally when they request for my passport. I have never been back to India since I was born, and I don't have any close relatives in India- Just my grandma (who is old) and my dad's cousin and my moms cousin, and rest are far relatives. My parents and siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, all live in either USA, CANADA, or ENGLAND.
Once I go to India, I can't come back to the USA until I'm approved of a visitors visa from Canada, after i get PR. Meaning, I can't see my parents until I get a USA visa to visit.

I have never been out of this country, and I'm very unfamiliar with India, and I have never been away from my parents on my own.... You can say I'm very dependent and a baby when it comes to stuff like this. America is my home... and it would suck if I can't come back for a long time.

That's why I;m not sure if I Should personally go to India after they request for my passport, or should I send it through someone.  Undecided

 @   canadianswife

I think there are far more punjabis in USA..I remember the Yuba City melas in California..oh boy, it was like Punjab!

I have never been to Yuba City, but I heard it's like Punjab there. I live in Georgia, and we don't have very many Punjabi people here, at least not compared to Cali, NY, Texas, and Canada of course. I still think that Canada has more Punjabi people- due to the fact that Punjabis are spread all over Canada, and the size of Yuba City is nothing compared to the size of Cananda, of course.
I lived in New York City for 10 years though, it's full of Punjabi's! We lived in a place where it was like Punjab when you walked outside of your house. Pretty cool, but then again, I didn't like it. I like living where there is diversity.

I heard that if Medical is received, then interview is waived for sure.

So, congrats Maple.

Not necessarily true, we got meds received in late November, and then got an interview call on Jan 8th (for Feb 22), so it doesn't mean you're certainly "interview waived". Interviews can be called at several stages of the processing, so while I think it's true many are called at the beginning, not all are.
