   sorry for jumping in here from London ,,,,,, I had the same plans to visit my sister in saudia and to visit the holly places but they have given me 28 days to land only, grrrrrrrrrrr

Congrats shamsia, i have a question can we pay the landing fees when the passport is requested from ND. As i have only payed the application fees and no tthe landing fees at the time of sending the appplication to mississauga.While this delay any processing time.

Hi there,

1. Yes you need to submit a PCC which is not older than 3 months at the time of submitting you application from all the countries you have lived in for 6 months or more. In some instances where you are unable to get a PCC, you can submit a letter explaining that you were not able to get it at the moment, but it will be forwarded as soon as it arrives. Also, show them what steps have been taken to obtain the said PCC.

2. Your agent is wrong. You must get your medicals done and include the receipt before you submit the application. Mississauga will send your application back if you do not send your medicals and that will delay your case.

Actually when they send you the PPR, they request you to pay the RPRF if you havent. They insist that you include the receipt with you passport and send the documents required together instead of sending them separately.
What you can also do is, pay the RPRF now but do not send them the receipt right away. Send it when your passport request comes. That way your RPRF would already have been processed in Mississauga and wouldnt lead to delays.
If you pay the RPRF after you recieve your PPR, it will delay your case a bit, atleast that's what it says in the guide. But personally I feel it doesnt really matter because ND keeps your passport for a long time anyway.
Surprisingly, I dont think mine was delayed too much. We got the passport request in September, but because of a mail screw-up, I did not get it. I got a call on Nov 14th asking for passport and payment of RPRF. ND recieved our passport on 26th Nov, and visa was stamped on 10th Jan 2012. Around the same time as other applicants from June got their DMs and visas. A month and a week roughly. So its upto you when you want to pay, as long as you make sure that you send your passport AND the RPRF receipt together.

Hey Guys quick question: How often do you guys check the status online (say for eg: once a week, once a month etc). The reason why I am asking is that, I heard an extremely ridiculous thing today, that the cases gets delayed if we have more checks online. Am I the only one feeling this is absurd?

Hello All,

After being engaged for 11 months, we were finally married happily.

I sent my application to Mississauga office on Dec 28th and they received it on Jan 4. So i consider my clock starts ticking from Jan 4th. It feels terrible waiting for 74 days to know if we are through the Step 1 and horrible to wait 6 months (officially) for Step 2. Like many couples here, I was married recently(Oct 16) and haven't spent much time with my wife (barely 10 days). We didn't go out and I had to return to Canada as I am pretty new in my job in Canada.

I am considering another trip to INDIA in Apr before I can make the final trip (assuming sometime in July/Aug 2012) to bring my wife here.

Like everyone said, I spent considerable amount of time in the ground work esp filling in loads of applications, ensuring i have provided all (I believe & hope) supporting documents that would ensure the VO is convinced about our relationship. Most tiring jobs being to get the marriage certificate, Police Clearance Letter. When i just thought I would submit the applications, my sixth sense asked me to double check if I had got everything in the application and only then i came to know this rule (i better call it a rule for the reason that it will delay the process) that we need to submit the medicals as well along with the application...

Shoot....I said to myself and asked my wife to immediately go Hyd to get her medicals done ( I had to literally spend around 3-4 hrs everyday for 3 days to  convince and get DMP doctors appointment and to expedite the process). After 1 months delay to the original date of planned submission, I finally got everything (i hope again I got everything...please GOD) to be sent to the Mississauga Office.

My story has been like this so far and its goes "To be Continued....."

I've been checking it three times a day, for the past 3 months, so chillax!  

My dear friend Kuku has even sent them a CSE (and he's still within the 6 months period of processing), so as you can see, we are "rebels with a cause" around here..LOL
