Got the passport request !!
Finally !!

So how long are the police certificates valid guys?? got them in sept 2011.

they asked for the following

-Payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in
Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
-police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period
of 6 months or more, if not already submitted.
-original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your
accompanying family members.

i have already submitted RPRF & police clearance from my address in india, haven't travelled abroad for more than a week.
(we did go abroad for a week for the honeymoon though).

kuku, shamsia .... any thoughts ?
how to send passport ? dhl ? etc etc

PCC valid only for 6 months and

Woohoooo!! Congratulations!! Happy to see good news finally Smiley Smiley
Send it through Bluedart. Found them pretty good. And as for the PCCs, they shouldnt be older than 3 months at the time of submission of the application. After that, they are valid for 1 year.

   @    Balibali

ummmm, I'm a girl :p

I just don't feel like putting my timline (it's actually an application for my hubby) but I am just a week apart from Kuku  Smiley

Application submitted Aug. 22
File Transfer: Oct. 28
PPR: Dec. 5

 @ mapledreams - apologies mylady !
I hope my assumptions arent presumed as gender bias Smiley
IMHO - Well, girl sponsoring boy should be a smooth ride given it was a "love marriage".
On the other hand if urs was an arranged affair, it does warrant more scrutiny as more guys leave their wives after coming here.
I mean no offence, just stating the numbers here. There have been too many cases where guys have used marriage to come to canada.
So it might take a few more days than "average".

But all that said, nobody really knows what "average" refers to in NDVO.

And each VOs personal prejudices come into the decision making process i think.

We cant really blame them for being so over cautious, our own people have created this hole for us, with all the fake marriages.
And this longer procedure, i think, is a deliberate move. It has to have a reason to it.

10 yrs ago ppl got visas in weeks, even days.

i would say add one more week to kukus time ..... i would hope even quicker Smiley

  @   balibali

Apology accepted  Smiley

Whoa, you really did analyze the situation, LOL!

Ours is more of an arranged/love mix since my sister is already married to his brother, so that should be enough reason for them NOT to doubt the marriage, hopefully.

I am always eager to hear from Kuku since his application (for his wife) is about 7-10 days apart, so if he gets an update, I assume after a couple of days, I would too, hehehe  Smiley

Anyway, is this an application for you to come to Canada or your wife?

Btw, are you a Bob Marley fan? just curious cos your profile picture is that of the reggae legend! I love him!

Hi Guys,

I got Decision Made few minutes back on my wife's PR application.

My only guess is that they try to wrap up as many cases before the 6 months figure.

App Filed: June 8 2011
Sponsorship app: July 26 2011
File Transfer: Aug 2 2011
PPR request: Aug 18 2011
In Process: Oct 18th 2011
Decision Made: Jan 15th 2012

All the best !

Thanks,
RF

Thanks,

Congratulations Roger and Shamsia. Have been away from the forum for the past few days (went on a surprise visit to India for 2 weeks and checked the forum only twice) and come back to see lots of good news. I believe kuku is next in line now. hopefully he gets his DM very soon.

Contradiction to your statement "guys leave their wives" I know a case where a girl used this way to get her bf to Canada.

A story goes like this..Oscar wining story Smiley Smiley

A below average looking guy got married to a very good looking girl and they stayed together for almost 2 years, after which that "Canadian PR holder" girl came back to India, demanded a divorce for no obvious reason and later that guy ( the poor husband) found out that she had a bf back home and she was in contact with him through out those 2 years.

Now the the worst part of the story - that guy had sacrificed his own study ( did a labor job instead) and spent thousands of dollars after his wife's graduate full time course without asking her to help financially towards her own study fees. She finished her study, got very nice job which was paying much better then her husband and then left him only to get her bf from India.

I do not know what happened after that but I feel sorry for that guy. He is my Bro's friend.

So moral of the story

sirf ladke hii nahi, ladkiyan bhi bewafaa hoti hai Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
