And besides its dated upto 30th sep2010 and there have been ppl right fromthis forum that have gotten their ppr after that with in less than 6 months
Yeah but it stated the time taken from Receiving application in Canada office till the issue of visa from New Delhi.
They have average time so that people should not panic... must wait for atleast 6 months before contacting them.
Many of us have get Visa in 4 months, some are still waiting...

Canada has always encouraged immigration but I guess I don't run the government so I don't know what is involved. If they are encountering an increased volume of immigration application, maybe hire more people in that department (Canadian embassies etc.)? Unless they think it's a temporary increase, which I really doubt. Anyways, there is a lack of jobs so they will create new jobs that way too. They spend billions of dollars on the G8 summit prep, spend some money on people who will be a part of Canada's future? It is a bit frustrating to see that the timeline for processing the application in ND has increased. They have taken away the mental comfort that *maybe* we will be lucky and it will only take 3 months =(  I remember reading somewhere that they are trying to process the spousal applications faster than any other immigration application...which will now take 8-12 months (for lucky ND people compared to any other country)...for parents or regular immigration application (general PR?), it takes yearsssss. You apply now, have grandchildren and finally maybe they will get to Canada? Lol

I guess I just needed to vent a bit =)

Goodluck and hopefully we are all really lucky and get processed in 3 months =)

Dont be nervous, but I can understand how you feel.  My first time on a plane ever was to India.  You dont have to do anything before or during your stop in Frankfurt.  When you land there you will be asked to take your carryon and all belongings with you.  You will enter the airport and have to go through security screening and you go to the gate and wait for your flight.  I am assuming you will be getting back on the same plane so you only stop long enough to refuel and they will restock and clean the plane.  You will get back on the plane and head for Toronto.  Nothing to it.  You dont pick up your luggage or anything.  You just take your carry on bag and go through security and wait at your gait.  You will have enough time to go to the toilet and refresh yourself.  You will have a couple of hours and thats more than enough time.   Dont worry no one was more shy than me, and I did it several times.  FOr some reason you always seem to find someone who is traveling to the same place as you to pair up with and be a travel buddy.  that helps.  Just dont leave your luggage where anyone can touch it.  Even going to the toilet I took my carry on with me.  Gross I know but at least no one had a chance to steal it.   Dont worry you will do fine, just think who is waiting for you at the end of this journey.  I know its stressful but once you land in Frankfurt you will see there is nothing to it.  There is nothing for you to do just enjoy the flight.

hi...firstly  happy diwali to everyone!!! wish you a happy new year & a speedy reunion with your loved ones.
i am new to the forum and just spent some time browsing through this thread.

my situation is similar to many others here - i am currently in canada and have sponsored my husband, who is in mumbai.
application filed: aug 6, 2010
sponsorship approved: sept 20, 2010
so its been about 6 weeks since i received the letter from CPC mississauga saying the sponsorship was approved & the file was sent to new delhi.
after this, my husband has not heard anything from delhi.

from the postings here, it seems that most sponsored persons receive the passport request within 3-4 weeks.
my question is, what is the typical timeframe we should expect for passport request? post that, how long does it take for the passport to be stamped with visa?

hope you can clarify my doubts. also, its amazing to read about people who are in my situation - it's definitely tough being apart from our spouses but i know we'll look back at this phase one day and say it was all worth it. :-)

Hi Sonia welcome to forum.
I have the same case, My wife sponsored me and I'm in mumbai too Smiley.
Now a days timeline has drastically changed. Many of us haven't heard anything from ND even after 4 weeks after the file transferred. In my & many others cases we got PPR (Passport Request) very next week or even same week when our file was transferred to ND. but now ND is not requesting PP, I think now ND has reviewing application first and once the review is done , then only they will ask for PP for final review so that they can send back PP in few days.
For my case they are having my PP more than 70 days now.
we can just w8 and pray that everything goes fine. Smiley
So don't worry be patient.
