Hi All,

I have applied for my Spouse PR visa and my husband has been approved as a sponser & my file has been received at CHC New Delhi on 8th July and the status under PR column now is ''appplication Received''. However , since then there is no change in status and also i have not received passport request yet . Is this normal ?

Can you please advise on following :
1. how much time it takes to get the passport request ?Its been 25 days now for my application !!
2. when does the CHC New Delhi changes status ? are they regular in doing so ?
3. How much time it takes to get the passport back after it is sent to CHC ?
4. Is there any way i can enquire about my application at CHC New Delhi ?

Also all those who have applied their application in 2011 , can you all please post your timelines , this can give an idea of current processing times.

Sponsorship status - Processing          : 28 June 2011

hai mmv,

congrats on getting your visa. so new delhi is fast i suppose considering your case. can you please tell me after how many days of sposorship approval you heard from delhi office. my hubby has been approved of sponsorship on june 22 n they have transferred to new delhi. what happens next?

when will i get the file no? also i am able to use my hubby's client id and login to ECAS which says decision made. now only if i get the file no. i could see the PR processing part(done by delhi), am i right?

Response regarding to your questions ?

1. how much time it takes to get the passport request ?Its been 25 days now for my application !!

Every case is different with it's own complexities and its depends on the visa officer dealing with the individual case. I have noticed in different forums that the PPR have recvd by the individual at initial or final stage of the case. As per your ecas status application has received on July 15th so probably I guess you will holding your PPR before 15th of Aug. Good Luck !

2. when does the CHC New Delhi changes status ? are they regular in doing so ?

CIC usually changes ecas status on every Tuesdays without fail but as far with CHC is indeterminable they can change at any convenience time and regarding your questions check this link frequently asked questions https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/redir.do;jsessionid=2882B280F6E0BA81574C3AA53BB17231?redir=faq_ecas&lang=en&app=ecas my opinion regarding ecas status kindly never rely on it.

3. How much time it takes to get the passport back after it is sent to CHC ?

common sense doesnt prevail in ND!!!

I filed in Apr 15, 2011. They send the ppt request on June 15, however, intead of sending it to my wife (which would be common sense esp since there was a canada post strike), they decided to mail it to my lawyer in canada!! So we only got it July 7th. We submitted it on July 11th and its now the 4th week and we've not heard anything!!!

My status hasnt been updated since July 11

Yeah I did. in the document request letter they gave a deadline to send the documents which is aug 19. hopefully they will check the file by then.
