Guys why does CHC ask for travel documentation proofs i.e. travel history? What is the main reason?

In your case from what I've read about your situation.. they would ask to make sure you have included all the PCC they require, they want to make sure you haven't travelled, and hid this fact from them. You did tell them you have had one passport expired and you didn't send the old passport to them, they want to make sure all is well.

I do think they are good people, its their job to be critical, and make sure THEY DO NOT MISS/OVERLOOK anything to REFUSE us a VISA... I hope this is not the case, but it just makes me wonder...

Hey guys...finally got through 150 pages of posts in the forum during the time I was away.

Wow - lot has happened - CONGRATS to all of you that have received the visa  Smiley

A special mention goes to fprince - I'm soooooooooo glad for you dude  Cheesy

And welcome to all the new members that have joined the forum.

I returned to Canada on Jun 4 along with my wife Cool  It is so good to be with her now after such a long wait.  Thanks for all of your support in the long drawn process.

Oh and I also found out from the CAIPS/FOSS notes that super long delay in our PPR was not due to CHC ND, but due to IPS.  Apparently, CHC ND had sent out our PPR within a week after they received our file in ND, but that PPR was never received by my wife.  Go figure.  It was only the subsequent PPR they sent after my CSEs that she received.

Also, the COPR she received was the 3 pages carbon copy type with the top one having her photo.  When we landed, she had to sign it along with the immigration officer and they stapled the last copy of it to her passport.

When she had received her passport back from CHC ND, along with her COPR they sent her a welcome letter and returned back about two thrids of photographs we had sent to them.  They kept everything else we had sent to them as part of the application.

Look who is back !
All the best buddy....now i have more company on this thread !
Your inputs have always been valuable for us....
Enjoy !

Hmm...does the 90 day wait period apply for new immigrants as well?  In Alberta, you can apply for Alberta Health Care coverage anytime after you land and it is effective the day you landed as an immigrant.

In Ontario Yes, 90 days.

I went to the embassy yesterday, and they said that the website is not showing the correct information somehow, the decision has not yet been made, they do have my passports with them.
This makes me even more worried, a month since the interview and no decision yet Sad
The guy at the counter was pretty rude and said why did i even come here i should've just emailed.

Going to CHC ND and meeting them in person is a gamble.
You will most likely get something from them only if

If your case is close to 6 months
Very unexpected events like no PPR for 4 months +
No contact etc

I do understand your frustration, one member went there 3 times and on the 3rd time she met the best employee in CHC ND and her case was resolved.
It can  happen in one visit or could take more, don't give up hope.

i am sending my old expired passport which had my  wrong date of birth however, I have also attached my DOB certificate and affidavit saying that my old passport had wrong date of birth and when new pp was made then it was corrected and attached is my dob certificate  which ensures that my dob is correct.
I have never been to any country on either my old passport and nor on new passport thus it will make them clear that i have no travel history by looking at blank pages of my pp. I have also enclosed a letter that i have never been to any country and check both passports to confirm the same

Since we are on the topic of Travel information...I travelled on my mother's passport when I was an infant. Then I subsequently got my own passport when I was 10, and now Im onto my current passport...does this mean that I held a passport in my teeny tiny hands as an infant? Grin

Yes I know this was the older system where they would endorse a minor on a mother's passport, but they don't do this anymore.

I'm not sure what is right to do, but my feelings tell me: You write them a letter stating you've never held a passport, but you were endorsed on your mothers indian passport when you were a minor and did travel, I hope you do have a copy of your mother's passport, you can send them photocopy pages from the passport as well.

Lets see what other have to say...

EDIT: this is where you try to be pro-active, and don't give them any reasons to DELAY your file Smiley

@ thecoolguysam - the only reason they want your old/all passports is because this is the ONLY way they have evidence that you have travelled outside India. You stated that you have never been outside India and that an affidavit is being sent along with the passport regarding change of date of birth.

So don't worry... everything will be fine.

Ahaan, yes I did write a letter saying that I travelled on my mother's passport as a minor, but I did not think of inclusing a copy of that passport. Will get it xeroxed now and include that. What about my other passport when I was 10? Do I include that too?

Oh man I hear your pain, did you specifically mention to him that you were promised the visa? Also is it just one guy on the counter or there is more than one? You should have also mentioned the part about CSE you sent them.. and tell him you did not reply to my CSE, hence I came here.

What did he say to do now?

DNT2003

No i didnot say anything about them promising me any visa.
i just simply said that your website says that decision is made but i have not recieved anything back from you from quite a while, so he said that no its some technical problem the decision is yet pending and we will send you your passport once its done.

I'm anyway scared of the decision, the interview was very odd.

I hear you my friend, I have a good feeling this visit of yours might have reminded them again about your file being left just on the pile or something... I can only suggest one thing wait about 7-10 days and see if anything arrives in the mail...
