@ Brin. You are absolutely fine Brin. You just need one police certificate. CHC-New Delhi only looks at one police clearance certificate in India and if you should submit where you are currently staying. They look at one police clearance certificate for each country, I was referring to a loophole they have in the police clearance thing. When there was no movement on my file, I was thinking it's stuck due to background check and called my uncle, who is an IPS officer. He told me that ideally, for such an case you would need 2 police certficates as the databases are not connected. But to request 2 certficates is cumbersome, that's why they are good with one. He also told me that the foreign high commisons don't send any criminal record check request to Police departments in India. A criminal list is maintained by External Affairs Ministry which is shared with external embassies as per some international accord. I hope now you understand why I said that. You are good. FebPr...!!! My husband has lived in diff states throught his school and college days in India...but when he went to get a PC, the police office had told him he doesn't have to travel to diff states and all he needs is a PC from where he resides currently!!! Pls tell me they were correct!!! So far ND hasn't asked my husband for any new PC or anything...So..hoping it's ok! That's a little insane though...It took abt a mnth and a half to get a PC from Chennai....if they want PC from diff states then he should have resigned his job and travelled around India collecting PC's!!!!

yes that is correct. and i also do not need to worry about the address in my old passport because it was mentioned when i was just 11 years old and embassy asks the info after 18th year.
i am realaxe what you guys have to say about my affidavit for date of birth correction.
Coolguy!!! what more can u do!?!??!!!! There is no other way to prove why it is incorrect! Unless it's possible in India to get a letter from the Passport office that they made a mistake! but this was 18 yrs ago!! Just send whatever u can! they are not going to reject ur application just like that! They might be curious and do their own Background check...but at the end u'll get ur visa!!!

Haha.. thanks for putting this here in perspective.. I guess I got lucky as I didn't support the condom companies.. and I know we WON'T be visiting doctor when she is here *hint* But yeah the situation would have been real bad if what you described below did happen, specially baby being Indian Citizen.. and then the passport.. and I bet you'd have to FLY down there to bring her with you.. Lucky for you it didn't happen... but I bet you won't be supporting the GOODYEAR anymore? errr... THE RUBBER COMPANY DNT2003 ND ND ND...am thinking what would have happened if things didn't go as planned for me...with my 8 month wait time She would have been 7-8 months pregnant They will not allow her to fly most probably Baby would have been born a Indian Citizen Adding the Baby to the application Again Deal with CHC ND for the Baby's sponsorship Get a Indian PP for the baby Deal with all BS with Indian govt agencies for Birth certificate, caste certificate etc Wow.. Love is a crazy word. Which can't be defined. You can't find it, if found you can't get it, if you get it, you can't forget it & if forgotten, you haven't yet felt it!

I agree.. especially for those that have had to / are enduring longer than usual timelines. It's ridiculous.. and once you've crossed it.. I bet its like a recurring nightmare that's hard to get rid of

They do ask for additional pics if they are not satisfied with the ones you provided...send them pics AFTER marriage which shows both of you in group settings with parents/friends etc. Once they ask for additional pics it implies they think the pics you sent was a flag for them..for some reason they just cant make any decision with the ones you sent or was very generic.. reg the date error..which date did you make that error, could be a small issue or BIG one depending on where the mistake happened. ex: when did you first contact the sponsor..if you said it was in 2010 and can not prove that now..that's gonna be trouble.
