But because they have given this provision when it comes to visiting CHC ND, so I think someone should give it a try if its convenient.

Only the applicant can inquire in person abt the file not any other friend/relative.
In fact even the spouse can not inquire status.

You can definately try, and it won't cause any harm, but mostly I've seen people get denied, specially people who are from our part of the world, you can't directly apply with the New Delhi office (they will ultimately process your file) but while we are at it, let me give you few tips.

Keep record of all the call logs, chat logs, email logs, and print it out for proof, you will need to submit all these, keep all the dates in mind / written for meeting, engagement, gift exchanged, all the stuff will be asked on the forms you will fill out, any visit you have make sure you keep the baording passes, and tickets, also if they come to receive you at the airport take the pictures as well and keep it!

again I say there is no harm in applying, but once they know that you are in Canada, and you two will get married the RED flag just kicks in.

I wish there was an easy way to get your spouse over here, if there was I'd have used it by now Smiley

Hi,

I am a PR since sep 2009 and have been working in canada till now(never left the country). I am getting married in few months, but my fiance is in india. I know that i can apply for her PR in new delhi office. But can i apply Temporary Resident Visa for her and apply for PR once she lands in canada. I understand that the PR processing will be longer in canada and she cant travel freely during that period., just want to know if that is possible.

Thanks,

If that's the case I'm not sure if they would ask for Authorization Forms (some IMM####) form to release information, maybe the other part is for Authorized reps.

Thanks for sharing Smiley

DNT2003

They have a form where details of the applicant + details of the person who is filling up the form or having a query have to be filled. So I am not very sure but they have this option where a person who is not an applicant can ask for details.Thats why I am saying if someone's frnd/relative is in or around Delhi then they should try this option. It might work!

If your wife is visiting you on a TRV you can not submit an Inland.
You will only be allowed to submit an outland application.
No loopholes here buddy, we all thought abt this idea already  Cool

There is a layover in Delhi which varies between 2 to 9 hrs.. Wat date r u planning to fly??
does anyone who if Air India from Toronto to Amritsar flight has a stop over to New Delhi before landing Amritsar ?   Its telling me online that it doesnt but heard from agent saying there is a stop over which i dont want.  I would prefer direct flight to Amritsar to save time.

Please let me know anyone who knows about this.  Thanks

I m nt an expert in this field.. But lemme tell u, I gt married in Canada on a TRV or visitor visa..n applied for PR Outland in ND..I was studying in the US and went back to work after completing the degree.. Since then I have visited Canada thrice, everytime mentioning to the customs that I am here to visit my husband.. My visits have been short and last time I entered I told them I m staying here for 2 months.. No return ticket, no proof whatsoever to show I m goin back after 2 months.. never had any issue.. N yes u can apply inland once ur wife is here..but it takes lot more time than applying Outland.. I think u she try a TRV.. But gettin one frm ND can be tough as I have learned from other posts here.. All the best ..

A lie detector.. hmm... I wouldn't mind it at all, I'd fly all the way from here to attend the interview so they can detect me, and promise a visa right away on the spot!

If the strike doesn't end in 48 hours Feds will have a legislation to stop the strike!!! so no worries, but if you are worried.. I will give you an address to send it, and it doesn't require POBOX, someone will receive it and sign for it, let me know when you are ready to SEND, then I will dig up the address.. I did samething because I wanted a SIGNATURE proof of my file being received!

As per my knowledge.
If applicant is on a work/study permit in Canada yes you can apply Inland.
A visitor to Canada can not apply Inland, you can only apply inland if you are in living in Canada for the last 12 months.

You can Visit Canada a million times if you have a TRV but you can not file Inland within Canada.

A TRV is given to a applicant who can prove she will leave Canada within 6 months, if your hubby is in Canada the chances of you getting a TRV from India is 5% as they do know there is no reason for you to return and if your PR is declined you will not leave Canada and stay in the country and apply on compassionate ground, hence the reason to decline TRV.

Again if you applied from US your chances are much higher to get a TRV.

To add one more new point, application for TRV to CHC ND needs a invitation letter from the Canadian invitee stating the reason for inviting the other person.
So when you say Fiancee, chances are its gonna be declined.
When you say Friend, chances are she might get the TRV but when you file the papers for PR they will know that you had lied on the TRV by not mentioning she is your Fiancee.

I wouldn't take this risk with CHC ND...PR is the ultimate goal, can not screw your chances with that.
