And one thing if you send mail to CHC ND, then they will contact u via email instead of hard copy, which is always better as it will avoid any postal delay.

Deepak,
I have been asked for addition documents. However, I was thinking that they will send a hard copy letter to my wife .. stating those details..
Now, this statement confuses me...

Could you pls clarifiy?

they already have your picture. its on the form on which you sign in the box. They will automatically send your PR card to the Canadian address you provided at the time of landing. you don't need to apply.

Just sharing my landing experience since I have benefitted from reading other folks experiences on here too!

So I travelled to India hoping to bring my wife back and by the grace of God, we got her application approved and PP returned in time. So we booked our return flight together by Air India (Direct New Delhi-> Toronto 16 freaking hours!).

The worst part of the experience was at ND international airport. The passport control officer (middle-aged lady) acted like an  @ $. She said that she doubted our relationship since we hadn't endorsed either of our passports with the spouse name!!! I was like 'oh my goodness... are u kidding me'? I tried to convince her that the visa issuance is proof that we are married and the landing paper specifically states that she is sponsored by me her spouse!! However, that crazy women refused my explanation and said that she would NOT allow her to fly with me coz the landing paper is proof for the canadian officers not for the indian authorities. At that point, I decided to shut up and let her do the crap talking she was indulging in. After blabbering for a few mins, she said that since my wife was travelling for the first time and was so happy, she wouldn't spoil our trip and would allow us thru. However, she said that she was black listing us and if we DID NOT get our PP's endorsed before visiting india next time we would be turned back from the airport lol!!! Good 'ol india!!!

The flight itself was ok and the process at pearson airport was amazingly smooth and everyone was super courteous!! We had no trouble getting thru customs with all the stuff my wife and I were carrying. So now we are together here in Canada and glad that everything is done.

Good luck to all the folks on here! i'll stop by occassionally to read up on stuff and see if I can help ppl out using my personal experience. Overall it's not bad and we should be thankful that ND CHC is a reasonably quick processing center in most cases. So hang in there!

hey adihanda,

thanks a lot for compiling the status updates! great way to refer back & track everyones timelines.

i'm a little confused about the immigration file number. is this the same Client ID number which was given in the letter from CIC Mississauga (which I received as the sponsor)? does the sponsored applicant get a separate file number. my husband has not received that yet, so then we would be under the 'Immigration File Numbers not yet received'

I will try to explain the difference ,client ID number is same as the  file number and stays the same for the entire process , Immigration file number is given to you after they complete an initial review on your application in ND it is supplied to you on the ppr letter although you can make an inquiry using both of these but they prefer you to use the immigration file number if you have it . You can log in to E-cas tracker using either one of these to check the status of your application. If you have the client ID only the sponsor can log in to ecas using his or her  details , with the immigration file number the principal applicant can also log into to ecas tracker using his or her  details . Once again the ppl that are waiting for their file number the client ID number is your file number . The immigration file number is only given to you when you get your ppr and both these are good enough to log into the ecas tracker

I put an inquiry thru MP. and came to know that my application is undergoing background checks..could anyone plz tell me how long will it take?..they (CHC, NEW DELHI, INDIA) already have my passport frm last 13 weeks..
i was in Canada as a student for almost 2 years.
How much more time shuld i expect?.
Thanks

I read this for Sim85 in the another thread does this means that having international travel record will affect our applications as well. This is so tiring when they just don't even tell you straight forward whats going on with your case, if they can tell through MP why just they can't updat that on ecas so that noone asks or disturbs them again and again. This is so annoying Angry Angry Angry Angry

Sim85;
I can see good times coming for u pretty soon. Hang on you are the next in our wait list to be cleared first.

Wish u good luck.

Dear All,

Need to clear confusion on PCC.

Today i checked CHC ND checklist . It say that if your application is received at CIO on or after June 26,2010, you are strongly encourage to submit your PCC  with your application  to the CIO .  If you are not able to attach with application , still you can send application to CIO . But whenever it will be required by Visa Office you need to submit it.

If i am not wrong then CHC ND Checklist said that no need to submit PCC with Application ? Right ?

So what to do ? As i am planning for new application should i send Original PCC to CIO ? What about the Validity of PCC ? Confused ?

Please Help.

Regards,

Mayank

Mayank

If i am not wrong you are trying to apply in Skilled Worker Class this thread is only for the Family Class and the suggestion you might get here would be totally different that may be required in your case. I would suggest you to join the thread in Skilled Worker class category their you can expect answers on all your questions. People here would be too apprehensive to reply to your queries.

Good Luck

Hi Mayank,
Send original PCC with application. It should be valid till the time the file reaches to CIO.
We did the same. Send the original PCC (PCC have only 3 months validity) with Application and we were not asked again for any other thing addition photos of marriage.

Deepak,

Now, this statement confuses me...

Could you pls clarifiy?

Yes initially they send hard copy to applicant in form of PPR. but while sending PPR attach a cover letter to PP stating that your preffered communication way will be email. Instead of hard copy ND will communicate using email. which is much faster than hard copy.

Also when u mail to ND u'll get auto response that further communication will be done by email.

"Disclaimer: By supplying your email address, you are initiating an email
communication with CIC and thereby authorizing CIC to use your email
address for communication with you, including the transmission of personal
information on your file."

Also I got email confirmation from ND CHC stating that my visa has been issued.

"Dear Mr. Virdi,

We are pleased to advise you that permanent residence visa has been issued to you and the passport/documents were forwarded to you by registered mail on November 19, 2010."
