@ guptash - on ecas, under the 'sponsorship application status', it shows 'decision made'. when i click on decision made, it states "We received your application to sponsor on August 6, 2010. We sent you a letter on September 21, 2010 about the decision on your application." Under the 'permanent residence application status', it shows 'not available'.
my question is, does my husband (the sponsored applicant), get a separate client id number to check the status of his application once it has reached New Delhi? and how are you informed of the passport request? is a letter sent to the sponsored applicant in india?
Your husband does get an Immigration File Number in the letter which requests his PP and other supporting documents if you havent submitted already. However, when you login with your Client Id which was originally given to you, you should see all the updates on E-Cas as well. So basically the sponsor is never kept out of loop. You will know any and every development on the Case. Under the permanent resident application status where you see "Not Available" right now, you shall see "In Process" and eventually "Decision Made" as well. Yeah, he recieves a letter on his address in India where they shall request his PP, the Landing fee if not paid already, and his Police Clearance Certificate for whichever country he has stayed for more than 6 months. I guess its pretty much the same letter to everyone. Ofcourse, with different File Numbers.

Hi everyone.... My hubby had his interview today and it went really well and they granted the Visa!!!!! He said the process was very professional and we were lucky not to have had a nightmarish VO! So about 2 more weeks of being apart and then this is over. When we got our interview date, the first thing that Boyee said was...this isn't the kiss of death! So I just wanted to pass on encouragement to those who are called for the interview. It can be a great thing and give peace of mind!!!! Good luck to everyone! The visas are coming

When the file has been transferred from Miss to ND Embassy how much time does it take to display the inprocess status. Can we inquire on email from ND embassy if they have received the package from Miss. Will emailing have any negative impact on the applicant and the case processing.

And the list has excluded teachers, lawyers and other important high-skilled professionals.
So, there is absolutely no requirement for immigrant lawyers in Canada. And the same holds true to immigrant teachers since Canada does not have any jobs even for those teachers who have received their education and training from Canadian universities.
The fact is that there are no takers for getting the services of teachers with Canadian degrees(and training) even without paying any fees. And if any immigrant teacher still wants to move to Canada, then he should rather be prepared for taking other jobs including that of cleaners etc.
Meanwhile, the Canada immigration department has its doors wide open for high-skilled chef or cook. Cooks and chefs are treated with great respect in Canada and are very well paid to afford a quality living in Canada since they don't need to depend on tips for their earning as seems to be case with chefs and cooks in Africa.
And its not just the chefs and cooks themselves who are welcomed to immigrate to Canada as per the latest
Canada immigration rules, even their family members getting sponsorship are invited to join them in this friendly nation. The new Canada immigration policy will result in fast immigration of family sponsorships in Canada. The latest changes in Canada immigration policy are in tune with the current skills in great demand in Canada while excluding skills that are no longer needed by Canada.
Canada has many high-skilled professionals driving taxis or involved in jobs that are far below their educational qualification or expertise. Hence, Canada wants to invite only those immigrants who can gain adequate jobs after immigrating here.
Canada is, indeed, a multicultural nation which is regarded to be immigrant-friendly. Its unlike the nations like Germany where immigrants not following German ways are threatened with dire consequences.
Canada offers attractive pay packages to help new immigrants settle and integrate successfully in this nation. The year 2011 will see arrival of nearly 265,000 new immigrants coming to the nation to live and work here.

CanIndian,
Congrats!!!!!!!
Guptash,
When did ur ecas status change to In Process then?
It changed from Not Available to In Process in 20 days. So about 2-2.5 weeks. But I recently heard that apparently, ND Office has changed the procedure a bit. They have changed from requesting PPRs well in advance to working on the file and then requesting PPRs. But then again, everything is soo out there! I dont know anything. Faith and patience all!
