Hello All,
I sent my additional proof to ND last week and still waiting to hear from them. Does anyone know, how long ND takes to reply or consider these additional proofs. They did not ask for the proof, I sent on my own after reading the GCM notes.
Does anyone has any experience in this. Kindly help me.
thanks
I am also wondering about the same. I have planned to apply for my GCM notes and want to address the concerns of the IO. What is the effect of doing it? One of my friend has done so and his proofs were received by the ND office today. In what time frame, the ND office will reply? Does anyone have any idea about it.

Hello, the good news is you have lots of company the bad news is there are applicants from Jan 11 onwards who haven't received either an acknowledgement letter or sponsorship decision. If you take a look at the January 2012 thread, some people have reported that call centre agents have mentioned that there are computer problems at Mississauga at the moment, which could be why actual processing times are in the range of 70-80 days. It's extremely frustrating that the website doesn't reflect reality but what can we do except be patient for a while longer... At this rate, late Jan applicants could hear from CPC-M by the end of April Sorry there isn't better news. Once your file gets to New Delhi, depending on how straightforward your case is, whether your wife has travelled or resided outside India, whether the genuineness of your marriage is readily apparent, etc. then stage 2 could take 3-6 months. Take a look at the ND spreadsheet maintained by Vengat (in this thread) to get an idea of other people's timelines. Good luck and keep posting if you have updates. Thank-you so much for your answer. Can someone pelase send me the the link to the January 2012 thread for New Delhi? If our application appears to be straightforward, is it fair to assume that my wife may arrive within 90 days? It is such an anxious process.

Hi, You can order for GCM notes. It will give you a clear picture about your case. It will take 1 month to get the GCM notes from the day you apply and it costs $5. Send an email inquiry to ND also. Contacting the M.P could be your last resort, I guess.

Both are same.
Not Exactly, CAIPS is short for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System'. It is the computer system historically used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada), other than new applications at offices which have switched to using the 'GCMS' system. FOSS is the computer system historically used by CIC offices in Canada to track all immigration-related information, but like the CAIPS system is being superceded by GCMS. GCMS is short for 'Global Case Management System', and is a newer computer system that CIC are rolling out across their offices. To ensure that we manage to obtain your file, we request both CAIPS/GCMS files or FOSS/GCMS files.

Hi Ajith111 I think GCM could be last resort. sending the email inquiry to ND just generic responce and Contacting the M.P may or might be the same,so its better go direct and fast. why we would be late,,we have to go on fast way,arr jaan paar i think who applied application on august and september, all are late, after nov and dec are going well, and jan application are good other God knows, will c,I will going through MP after 4 Apl wait another 2-3 days

Hi I am applying for spouse visa through New Delhi, India (I am the applicant). I do not have my surname (family name) on my passport, only my first 2 names. On all my documents including marriage certificate and degrees, I only have my first 2 names (no surname). Will this create a problem for immigration and in the future in Canada? I heard somewhere that it is very important to have surname in Canada. Should I change it before they ask for my passport (get a new passport and submit my old one with it to CIC in Delhi) or wait until after I land in Canada to get a new Indian passport? thanks in advance! what do you mean when you said you don't have surname? if your name has two words the second one is your surname, it could be your fathers name ( which is common in some part of India) or your house name or anything else. I don't recommend to change your name and complicate the whole process. Also keep in mind CIC officers are aware of different cultures of different country, So you should be fine
