As I understand it, this is how the process works.
Mississauga receives application. Next step is approval of the sponsor - 48 days. Then they send it to New Delhi and after processing stuff, ND asks for the sponsored persons passport - takes around 30-50 days. Then they stamp it (i.e approve the visa application) and send it back to the person in India - around 30 days.
Am I getting the procedure right? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi there, you have the procedure right and I wish it works the exact same way all the time. But (without meaning to discourage you), you can throw in between requests for additional documents, missed letters, interviews, travel history info, ARCs, and a lot of impatient cartwheeling around the house that our esteemed members indulge in once in a while to show their displeasure with ND  So yes, you have the procedure spot on and I hope it goes smoothly for you and everyone on here |

Except Passport is asked as soon as your app is received (before any processing) just a file number is created It is a sort of standard letter also serves as a AOR. |

You will get the PR card only after landing in Canada. However, along with the visa on your passport, you will get this sheet of paper with all your details, your picture, and a carbon copy at the back. This you need to sign in the presence of an officer after you land. It is called the COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence. |
