YEs it was way back like 4 years back ....can u plz tell me how long will they take after finger printing is done ...any idea
Hi there, so they basically want a PCC from Canada, or rather the one that RCMP provides. It shouldnt be a big deal really. And since you cannot fly to Canada, they requested you to come to the embassy to give your fingerprints. I dont think it would affect your processing times. Maybe you stayed for more than 6 months & did not provide a PCC when you first sent in your application?

thats good you got a manual override on it but like i said it doesn't make a difference if you don't change it, as when you do your legal name change you will need to update your PR card and other docs anyways. unless you want xyz singh as your last name instead of just singh. I know couple people including my wife with the same thing, but we're not changing it. no point in tying up the resources for this as we will do it when we do her legal name change. buddy of mine his wife's PR says Amy Amy Kaur and she already got a US visa and they were in NYC over xmas. no issues going in and out of the country. unless you want to keep your last name as xyz singh then get it changed otherwise hold off until you do your proper name change to have singh as your last name. everyone has their preferences but it won;t hurt you if you hold off on it. @ singhson
so finally i have got my pr card with last name "sam kambo" on it. there is no first name thus it matches with copr so instead of "xyz xyz singh" where xyz is first name and xyz singh is last name will not print on pr card. xyz singh will print as a last name and there would be no first name printed on card. so if some people have got the pr card name "xyz xyz abc" then they should get it corrected as per copr

@ MD it said the samething for my wife, until last week. it says Complete and the address is updated to my address here in edmonton. so give it 4 weeks and it will be back on with the updated status I kinda noticed the "pause" that ND has made, hopefully by this weekend, we'll see more DM's!! Update: When I log on into ECAS, under permanent resdience application for my hubby, it says "unavailable" and we are not able to log in with his info. We used mine and that's what we noticed..I guess once you land, it goes away and comes back when pr card has been sent out.

hey you got nothing to worry about. its possible during the background check they came across someone with the same name and lives in the same city/state (or unless you were in canada and there is someone with the same name) as you with not so "pleasant" history, so they called you in for finger prints to rule out that you are not that person. so you got nothing to worry about. is it coz i did my PCC from regional passport office? thats why they need finger prints now also they asked me to appear at the visa gate and call them to tell them my availability

Hi shamsia am so confused at this point coz i got PPR last month itself and i had sent my passport and now they are asking me to come ND for finger prints my question is (they could have asked finger prints when they sent PPR . and am wondering how long it would take coz they gave me a date of March 11th to come for finger prints ...can u or someone plz plz advice how long it will take from then....am in tears as in april its our first anniv and i want to be there and this wait and processing is really tiring
Hey, dont be tensed! I know, easier said than done! But first things first, dont put a timeframe on when you want the visa, because you never know with ND. In fact, life is unpredictable like that...so dont get yourself more tensed up by wanting things to happen according to plan, just go with the flow! If it helps, I missed out on the visa way back in Nov cos ND never sent me that PPR in September. I could have totally made it to Canada before our first wedding anniversary on Jan 7th. Yes, it did hurt, but I'm concentrating on the other anniversaries we are going to have. I know perfectly well how you feel, but sometimes you need to make that conscious effort to be happy As for how much time it will take, we can only make an educated guess. But hopefully not too long, unless they have any doubts about your stay in Canada (which is more likely the case here). So tell me, did you stay for over 6 months? And more importantly, did you overstay? And dont worry, these things take time. Just hang in there @ singhson: I like your perspective on the whole thing. You are right, sometimes if your name matches with someone else's then you would have to go through all this rigmarole. It should be solved eventually. Not a problem! All the best lovergirl

i know bro but the problem here is when i get my legal name change the previous name would be "xyz xyz singh" instead of just "xyz singh" so now i have proper matching pr card with my copr and pr card thus once i get my name change certifcate it will have my old name i.e. last name "xyz singh" and new name as "xyz singh surname" thats good you got a manual override on it but like i said it doesn't make a difference if you don't change it, as when you do your legal name change you will need to update your PR card and other docs anyways. unless you want xyz singh as your last name instead of just singh. I would agree with shamsia. Don't question why this n why not this to ND. Do what is best for you in this situation, which is to go asap to ND with your letter and give them your fprints. I don't know how long it would take for your canadian BC but I can assure you that it's normal for them to ask for that if you have lived in canada. At least be happy that they are working on your case and things are moving.....

Hi every one......good news...
okay so...does this sound like a bollywood event to you guys? so i was on the way to mumbai from canada to see my wife who is from delhi. we had decided to meet in mumbai. so after i got out of the airport, i kept looking for her all around but couldn't find her. then getting mad and impatient, i called her and asked her where at the airport she is. she replied she is in delhi. i was like what the hell. why? then she said she got the visa!!!! these all happened only in between 11 hrs or so when i wasnt in touch with her while i was litrally on my flight. so yeah my wife finally got the visa. i am a june applicant and yes, no interview. the status remains unchanged, still in process. anyways, so for those who are still waiting, hang in there. it will come right to you. all you need is patience that i failed to convince even my wife to have.
Good luck..
Congratulations Suni!!! True Bollywood ishtyle (not style) story
