HI guys i am following you all since long. Note down my timeline :-
Case Applied - 16.08.2011 File Transfer - 26.10.2011 PPR Requested- 16.11.2011 PPR Delivered - 23.11.2011
Its a strait-forward case for the Province of Alberta. Any clues for DM or processing time?

Hi Mukal,
Welcome to the club. As per CIC website, it takes 6 months from the date the file transferred to ND. So if your case is straight forward, you should get DM by March-April. If you are lucky, you might hear good news earlier.

I have been closely following mapledreams since she applied exactly one month before me. And also Ajay and Siva as we are having the same timelines. Just a thought : Looking at mapledreams timeline: PPR : Dec 5, 2011 Ecas Update : Jan 19, 2012 (Medicals Received) DM : Jan 22, 2012 (We started processing your application on January 19, 2012.) It looks like Once CHC- New Delhi sends a PPR they keep BFD which is 45 days ahead from the date of PPR sent. So she got her PPR on Dec 5, 2011. And 45 days ahead that is Jan 19, 2012 her file was re-opened and was started processing at VO. I believe it was a straight forward case and hence interview was waived and a decision was made(To issue VISA) in just 3 days. So hoping to receive my Visa in a month from now. And also pray that all of us get the visa soon. Insha Allah!!!

Congratulations Mapledreams
Just a quick question to you and shamsia, did you both have any travel history...and I am sorry if I offend you both, but are you females? I applied for my husband in July, but we still havn't received a response..i see application received July 22nd and medical received but no in processing date...he was in canada for a year and thereafter he left for india and his PR expired. We met in Canada and then got married in india and I am sponsoring him again...is it because of this situation that it is taking so much time? Does anyone else have any clue??!!

@ eb1,
It is normal for background check to take a longer time if an applicant has lived in Canada. What was his status when he was in canada? You said his PR expired?

Hello kannadiga, Nice observation. I was looking for a pattern too. I am trailing you exactly by one week.
My case I dont whether it is straight forward or not.
I applied for immigration in 1999 and I married my ex-girlfriend But it did not last long and we mutually separated in 2001 (She was not part of PR, but I sent CHC our docs)
The divorce happened in 2002 and My PR came in 2006.
When I landed here I was a divorcee. when I applied sponsorship I could not find the originial divorce papers. So I wrote in the covering letter.."You have it in delhi..please see that.."
Now mine is a second marriage, wife previously not married age difference not much 4 years. Interstate (AP and TN) arranged marriage through mother friends. Wife not traveled previously. Had Marriage in Hyderabad and Reception in Chennai attended by 400 people.
No children from previous marriage.
So mine is a not a straight forward but a normal case.
Let us hope!

@ Siva Thank you! We can still debate, I mean I'll still be around Good luck to you too! @ Deven As far as I know, they changed it on a Sunday. I think it might be an automatic thing that is enabled through a software program..i'm not really an IT kind of girl, so we can ask around here for probabilities of my hypothesis @ Ajay457 Thank you @ Kannadiga Wow, you really did work on it didn't you?! LOL! Good luck to you!! @ Jatt-Punjabi I responded already, please check your inbox

So it can be concluded that "medical received" in the later stage is a positive sign. Secondly, "in process" update is also cases to case bases. As we see, Maple never received this update, but directly went to DM. While many straight forward cases go to "in process" first and very soon to interview or DM. So it is very hard to predict, how ND works.

@ eb1 Thank you! I am a girl who sponsored her hubby. As far as his travel history is concerned, he went to Singapore for like 4 days in 2005 and that's it. It could be due to the situation he was inm since he did live in Canada, but I'm sure it should be fine. Chillax!

Hello Kannadiga, I have made a guestimate of my case. Please see displayed table as picture. I have taken the first BFD after receipt of app here in ND is 30 days (may be they like round things) I have guessed that the file reached in 3 weeks to delhi. I have taken 45 days as BFD for interview. So far I was able to predict correctly to my wife! (just top keep my wife happy..sorry i forgot there are some girls here)
