I understand whatever Jason kenney has said is for MI4, 5 or 6, and not MI1, 2 or 3

No brother, please read it again

Today, Minister Kenney announced two additional changes that will help transform Canada's immigration system. One proposed change would help CIC ensure FSW applicants meet current labour market needs. It would allow new rules set out in Ministerial Instructions to apply to people who have already submitted an application. For example, instructions could place a priority on a specific occupation, such as doctors, and have existing applications from doctors processed first, regardless of where they are in the queue.

A similar change would allow new regulations, once approved, to apply retrospectively to people who have already submitted an application. These changes would help ensure that immigrants are chosen based on Canada's current needs and priorities.

Agree with Canlove and thats what Iam trying to say, its retrospective which means applicable for previous cases as well, what will happen to cases which are "In Process with Date" which category do they come in?

As DBC pointed out earlier in his post, Pre-Feb 2008 cases are LIBERAL'S babies, where as Post Feb 2008 cases are their babies (Conservatives).

No politician in the world admits their mistakes and immigration minister is no exception. (No rationale for prioritizing MI-3 over MI-2, because same NOC's are involved and rightly this is ridiculed by political opponents)

So technically speaking, immigration minister is not only correcting his mistakes but also in the process he is sidetracking unwanted NOC's.

Canada is looking for more trade persons and people with skills that can be absorbed fast in the job market. (read Canadian Experience Class and PNP applicants along with applicants who has Job Offer)

Please understand the bigger picture.

Yes, we have to try to remain positive, even if it is for an indefinite time. However, not to be negative, but the reason for pre-Feb 2008 cases being axed and pre-June cases still being in the system may be that sufficient time has not elapsed for pre-June cases for axing them  Undecided Hence maybe two yrs down the line, if we do get sidetracked, we have to consider the remote possibility of this Govt. taking a negative decision for then remaining pre-June cases (whether in-Process or otherwise).

I agree with this point of view.

This current backlog of approx 1.5 lakh people was created by the current govt.
The earlier was by the liberal govt. And no party would admit their mistakes.

The canadian govt is drastically changing their policy to suit their requirement and to reduce the backlog hence the cap of 20000 and 10000 for MI2 & MI3.

All those who are in process need not worry as work is done on  your file.

Comeon guys.

I am pretty sure that all pre juners with IP date and CAIPS support don't have to worry about anything now. It is just the delay that we should bother now.

Selection Decision is done. (Positive)

Only two things pending. ie. passport and medical request. ECU will deal the same.

Nobody here really knows if there is any hidden agenda for the immigration system.

OMG,

NDVO is replying in case specific inquiry that they will process the application but finalization may not occure until after 2012 and my interpretation is that they already have foreknowledge(read instruction) about Immigration Minister's plan and are acting accordingly.

So to sum up, I don't have specific answer but am hoping that Pre-Juner will start getting medicals after green signal from immigration department (read minister) which in my wild guess will start in second half of the year 2012 (no specific month) and this too if Devil's mind doesn't go further (take the hint!).

As per caips, all or most of the files are paper screened. If that is not work done than what is.

Diff visa offices have different procedures and diff processing timing.
London and Buffalo have a processing time of 25 months where as NDVO of 18 months(now maybe it will be 20),
If you check than applicants receiving MR in these VO have applied way back in 2009.

I want us all to be optimistic for our future, whether in India or Canada or someplace else.
