Ever since TCS Overtook passport works things have gone tuff

 you can take pcc from passport office , they will give you pcc same day.

I am not sure which city is giving same day PCC in india but my experiance is very bad with PCC, they took 3weeks for mine and 45days for my wife's PCC.

so please check before you apply on the timelines in your location.

I am in Faridabad presently...PCC in a week max

I am getting it done from DC office...

The only problem is son's ID reqd by DC office.
They wanted the ration card which I shall apply for Monday.Keeping fingers crossed.

If it takes longer, should I inform CHC and request for an extension by a month or so?is this viable?Will it be considered?Or should I go to CHC,Delhi personally and talk to someone there?

I relocated from Kolkata to Fbd around 2yrs ago.I got a tel.connection,gas connection,Voters Id made but ration card...no one gave me info.about that.

Today I located the office out here which issues RCard,so will apply for entire family.
Can anyone help me out?When a minor turns major, which ID can I get quicker?which shows his address as well as his photo?

If the passport of a person is new or renewed then passport office gives PCC within few days and if not then passport office will redirect ur police verification to local police which can consume more than a month (in my case it took 3.5 months) it is because passport office may have standard period for which a police verification for passport is valid beyond that it redo it.

the problem is that the passport of my son is going to expire on dec 31,,,,,,can it be a problematic reason in delay of visa as per CHC norms or shoulkd I apply for new passport right now and notify the CHC ?

PP should be valid for 6 months at the time of travel

If you get the Visa in the next three months your PP may be returned by VO for limited validity

but that 45 days period is a huge problem for you as far as PCC is concerned in any which way

Now a days, you are able to get PCC quickly from Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) which are newly opened.

yea.. passport seva kendra or passport office issue the PCC within a week max in Gujarat & they returned PP back by speed post...fees is 300/ application
