I read on some thread last year about a british guy got married to a canadian was denied PR because he was sentenced in a Beer Brawl

What I feel, background checks and security checks are illogical after request of RPRF, Medicals, especially Passport request.  There are many applicants who work for MNC and have a high profile job and one day they are in India, the next in US, the next in African Jungle etc.  If they do security checks after PPR, and the security agency takes time to give reports, then the applicant's job is in a toss.  Visa officer will just say NO LOSS.  :-)

VO should treat each individual with importance and should know the importance of holding ones passport.

That it is Very fair to expect the VO to check the Background of the applicant till the last moment

ALL of us in the so called backlog have cleared the CIO Stage so we are not bothered about how Busy they are at This Moment

second our Files are at Local VO where as the New applicants are processed by CIO

In new Priority List VO Is limited to issuing Medical and stamping Visa to the new applicants

They will Be analyzing The Files of Pre june 2010 Applicants

Now The Gist is The Local VO Has our files

We are affected not By how many new files are raised but by how many Visa they plan to issue this year.

I heard its 55000 Files for this year
and assuming 1500 are left from last Year fast track , It is also Understood Not More than 7000 New Applicants are expected this year 

we are Left With 46500 Visa for aspirants like us.

The Results of this are already Visible on Most of the Threads .

So Keep The Hopes High and Best Of Luck

One applicant  named "dreames" (having file transfer date 07-05-2010) got his Medial on DATED  -01-07-2011

Yes Its 250000 Migrants assuming a unit will have 4 people Minimum the Number of files will be 55000 will be considered

Comes out to same mathematics

It is 250000 new immigrants this year. (not 55000 files)
