going by the letter it means that Pre-june 2010(which were not returned) will be processed before Post June(FSW1), which might further  delay our cases

It is very confusing.
The letter shows "Applicants who applied earlier (from February 27, 2008 onward) will be contacted before those who applied later (up to June 25, 2010)"
I guess, it shows that they will follow FIFO for pre June cases. (The dates mentioned are about pre-June cases).
So good for us, right?

The letter clearly states that they are processing MI-3(July 2011-12) on priority.
Rest all is on non-priority.
Its really laughable. MI2 & MI3 has the same list of occupation. I can still understand for MI1.
Wtf!!!!

They have got peanuts for brains.

'Your application was determined to be eligible under the first set of Ministerial Instructions, as it was received between February 28, 2008 and June 25, 2010. A second set of Ministerial Instructions applies to applications received between June 26, 2010 and June 30, 2011. Processing priority is now being given to Skilled Worker applications that meet the eligibility criteria in a third set of Ministerial Instructions, for applications received from July 1, 2011.'

I think you are right KDSTTL.

This means VOs are processing applications under latest MI on priority basis and for the remaining applicants they are following FIFO. If this is true, then this is great news for pre-june cases. Pre-juners (MI-1) will be on priority than MI-2.

It makes me awfully irritating and frustrating whenever I read the posts of FSW applicants of MI 3. Those applicants get their visa in less than a year whereas we people have been waiting for almost 2 years for now. It sometimes makes me think whether we really need to go to Canada with this kind of a waiting period.

I mean, being so much reputed in our country with the kind of job and salary that we have, is it at all that desperate for us to go to a country that hardly recognizes our degree, experience and potential. People say that to get adequate Canadian experience, one should work in restaurants, gas stations etc. Although, I do value dignity of labour, I am literally embarrassed when I think that I need to do such jobs to gain experience. If i have to do such jobs, the purpose of getting a hard earned professional degree gets defeated.

At last, it makes me think ‘have I taken a wrong step in choosing Canada' and better change it before landing in that country and realizing this after wasting a couple of years of career.

I might be discouraging and disheartening, but the fact remains that ‘do we all need this?'

IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THAT ANY VERIFICATION CALL DONE BY VISA OFFICE IS DONE WITHIN A FEW DAYS OR A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF INPROCESS DATE

OR

HAS THERE BEEN A CASE WHERE VERIFICATION WAS DONE AFTER MORE THAN 8 WEEKS OF REVIEW DATE

Very one sided news.

Not taken into account that India & China both were on a roller coster ride with more than 8% growth since last decade(slowed down now).
So for people with stable jobs and good income, immigrating is a no brainer, unless the motive to immigrate is not money.

I believe job verification is done within days of processing start date...we have crossed this stage.....

Next step is Medicals with or without additional docs request like updated POF, PCC, etc.

What they mean is preference will be given to MI-3, then MI-2, and then MI-1 on FIFO basis (based on applications submitted to Nova Scotia). We should remember that previously for MI-1 visa offices used to follow FIFO for full docs submitted to visa office.
