In Canada taxi drivers make 2-3000 pm, truck drivers make $ 5-6000 pm, Canadians do not see these jobs as a lower end jobs. TTC bus operators make  $7-9000 per month. Crane oparators take home $ 85 per hour. Garbage picker make $ 30 per hour, canada post dispatcher make $27 per hour, and seriously people from these jobs a lot of time make more money than office workes and no disrespect in doing these jobs over here except in the numerous posts started in this forum where members think these are menial jobs.
If required immigrants can do these jobs as survival jobs and the move to their own occupation.

most of  the crane operators work for 4 days in a week as their length of work is 10 hrs in a day. Good idea to focus on this job. It is well paying also.
