It is a matter of fact that one can use the real estate property as a proof of funds. It has to be properly assessed by a certified company. Jewelery can not be used.

Hello, I am currently in US and my visa office will be Buffalo. However, my spouse is still in my country. I am planning to submit my application for Canada permanent resident in middle of Sept 2011. I am now preparing the documents to apply for US J2 visa for my spouse. My spouse will not be physically in the US after 6 months from now. So, should I include my spouse in my application for Cadana visa or should not? If my spouse is not in the US at the time I submit the application, can I still request Buffalo visa office for both me and my spouse? I believe my spouse will be in the US by the time of interview or medical check. And if I include my spouse in my application, so for travel documents, my spouse only submit the photocopy of passport info-page (no US visa, no DS-2019, no I94) or any other documents needed? And if so, is there any bad effect on the outcome of the application for me? Thanks a lot.

You have to mention your spouse details no matter where she is based. As you are the principal applicant, you can request Buffalo. Your wife is just a dependent in your case. If called for an interview, she should be there definitely. But that is during the final stages of the application process.

We didn't hear from CIC yet, also anticipating some news. Our method of payment is CC, not charged yet.

Hi, I would suggest you to put the visa office as your country visa office rather than putting buffalo. As per your mail , you are on the J1 visa and J1 visa always have restrictions that you have to leave the country and spent 2 years in your home country , unless you apply for waiver and that's a lengthy Process as well. I would advice you to put your vISA office of your home country. Buffalo is one of the slowest visa office.
