Hello everybody,I'm from Canada and my wife is from the Philippines, the Vo has received the permanent resident application on dec 15,2010. My wife had an interview on july 7,2011, at Manila. But she has never been there because she never received the invitation letter, only by email, but she don't have internet access where she lives. She must go to on internet cafe for that but she works everyday and don't really have time to go there, only sometimes. Me,(the sponsor)i never received any email or letter to know about the interview. The day after the interview( july 8,2011) we both received an email and a letter from the VO. They told us: we need to receive 2 files under 45 days delay, after that we will make a final review of your application. I sent an email to the VO to say why we never know about the interview and said my wife is available at anytime for a new interview and then the sponsor is available too, to go to Manila with his wife. Also, they don't say which kind of files they want, only the number of the files( ex: F00005338,B530146) But no more details. I called the embassy, the VO, the telecentre in Canada, i sent an email to the VO. They never gave us any answer. I think we made all we can do for our application. Finally, my wife medical exam will expire on oct. 6,2011. What we must do? waiting the decision? When we can expect to know the decision? The 45 days delay has begun on july 7,2011. How long can take to know the decision? Will my wife need to go to have a new medical exam? Thank you everybody. We hope for approval decision.

Sorry to hear she missed the interview, normally an interview request is when they have doubts of the relationship and its that point the sponsored person would clear up any doubts. Since the interview was missed the VO will assess the file based on the information they already have and make a decision regarding your file, this doesn't look good as there was a reason the interview was called try and order CAIPS/GCMS notes and see what was written.

Hope it works out in your favor

I really don't know why they have a doubt on our case because we proved by sending many pictures of us: wedding, alone together, with the family, at the wedding party. I sent money to my wife since january 2010, every month. We made a honeymoon trip to Hong Kong. Have been to Hong Kong twice. Her brother and mother was our witnesses of our wedding and they have been with us to Hong Kong.I have been 4 times in one and half year to visit my wife and we met for the first time in real(not by internet) They have all these proofs in our documents.

This is so sad your wife missed the interview. I wish each Vo send letter with e-mail and real time update on ecas to avoid delay.

yeah, very sad, me(the sponsor) has never received any email or letter for the interview of my wife. If i received, she was at the interview, even if she must take a 2 hours flight to Manila.
